Just got back from my final run, I went for it and ran 5K, not because I wanted to kill myself or because I wanted to be a smug git (with a time akin to a baby's crawl, smug ain't going to happen), but because I'm 50 in a couple of weeks and wanted to do it before then, and I knew that if I didn't it would spoil my lovely consolidation runs.
I seriously am having a hard time reckoning myself with that moany, sweaty, tomatoey red woman of week 1, sh*t, who am I kidding, weeks 2, 3, 4, 5 and some of 6. The last time I pretended to run 5k was on a treadmill 8 years ago, I say pretended because we all know it's far too easy to just hop onto the sides when you need a breather. Since then I've had back surgery, torn my acl, broken my leg, developed arthritis in my knee and ankle. So trust me when I say I am absolutely thrilled with myself and proud doesn't even come close.
The guy who sprinted past me a few weeks ago in his posh bobble hat and sexy socks was back, he managed to run past me three times tonight. Glad to say, even he gets hot as the bobble hat disappeared the third time.
Anyway enough wibbling, pic to show how pretty it is even in the dark, and I'd just like to say thanks for all your inspirational posts and my sports bra.

Gosh that is a bit of list, to have gotten up and not only kept going but climbed to the top of the C25K mountain is something to be proud of. Well done you.Nice picture too, a pretty backyard you have to run in.

I love this! I’d be bloody proud of myself too! I recently started running(jogging) after starting c25k back in March and giving up, I was doing a bit on the treadmill at the gym but of course no more of that and last week managed to do 2 5K runs!! I stopped once for about a minute on the second one but I still can’t believe I’ve done it! Need to stop smoking totally and then there’ll be no stopping me! Well done again
How amazing! Well done .I try to make eye contact with those i come across when I'm out joggling (a cross between jogging and jiggling) and still they blank me ! However, im certified blind with other 'stuff ' , so I'm just glad I've kept with it .Go you , and happy birthday when it comes 😃
Yeah!! Congratulations, Imoca! 👏👏👏👏That’s such brilliant news.
