Graduation!!!!!

Well, after 9 weeks of training with the brilliant couch to 5k app I am now able to run for 30 mins without stopping, 3 times a week! I feel really proud of myself, it hasn't always been easy, and still isn't alot of the time, but it's an achievement that I never imagined I would do. Just need to keep it going now and aim to do 5k in 30 mins (just over 4k at the moment).πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ˜Ί

Well done, that's brilliant, bet your chuffed with that, and 4k is a pretty good pace too. I was looking at your first post, how are the knees now? πŸ˜‚

I had the same problems, with an achey knee, in early weeks! It's mad how good this programme works, to get us to this point.

Enjoy the moment, and good luck with the rest of the journey!!!

My knees are loads better now, I bought some decent trainers and running socks which made a huge difference. Don't get me wrong, my knees and body in general still aches at times, especially 1st thing in the morning, but I think that's probably an age thing!! I won't let that stop me though πŸ˜ƒ. How did you resolve your knee problem?

Peter44 profile image

Pretty much the same really, with the knees, and general aches, usualy a bit stiff, day after a run! Just use knee supports, and when it was worse, rubbed in some deep heat gel, before running. Like you say, probably an age thing, but i think my body is getting used to the running now, and i feel so much better for it. πŸ˜€

Well done Cudrik on completing the program.😁

I started 2 years ago and completed the program Nov 2018 then moved up to 5k spending quite a few months consolidation then doing parkruns. Great until I also wanted to do 5k under 30 mins; that's when achillies and calf problems started.

That took 3-4 months recovery.

Back to just consolidation runs and really built strength.

Realised 30 mins may not be for me so did jujus plan and first did 60 mins then 2 weeks later did 10 k.

My quickest 5k is 33mins and just did 34 mins yesterday. I'm happy with that,

and my main aim is to stay injury free.

So think about what you really want.😎

Thanks, good point about distance rather than speed.

Huge congratulations Cudrik....what an achievement. And 4k...WoW I'd be absolutely thrilled to have made it to 4k in that time. Well done. πŸ†πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ™‹

Thanks. Maybe they should rename the program 'couch to 30 mins' although it's not as good!πŸ˜†
