I am new here. I started running with c25K 7 years ago and got really into it- I did a couple of half marathons. My last half marathon 3 years ago I injured myself and couldn’t run for 2 years. I have been trying to get back into it through c25K for the past 6 months but have found it hard to stick to- have repeated week 4 about 6 times because of start/ stopping. I decided last night I would drop back to week 3 and try to go for it to be doing the 5K by New Years. I have managed run 1 of week 3 this morning and am going to try and post here to keep me motivated. My next door neighbour lapped me in the park 🤣.

Thanks for the welcome and the essential guide. Looking forward to being part of the community. X
I think the forum definitely helped me to get through the programme. If you post regularly on here, you will get lots of support, advice and an occasional kick up the bum when needed.
In my view the early weeks and months of running are about discipline. Not letting yourself make excuses and heading out whether you want to or not.
The great thing for you, is that you know you are capable and also what a wonderous thing running is! Good luck
Thanks Helen. You are of course right- it’s all about committing to do it come rain hail or shine. I find it discouraging how unfit I currently am but once you break the fitness barrier there is nothing like the feeling of powering along!!! 💪🏼 where are you in your running journey? X
I have been running for about 3 1/2 years and have got up to 13 miles (once!). Mostly I just focus on going out a couple of times a week and enjoying the sense of health and wellbeing that running has brought me. I'm 59 now and probably fitter than at any other time in my life. Really hope that you find the joy again soon
