Today is World Kindness Day
Apologies for cross-posting, but if we all pledge just a single act of kindness it will make a huge positive difference. Better still let’s all pledge to find ways of making kindness a normal part of our daily lives. But as well as being kind to others, we need to be kind to ourselves as well.
If you set out today to try for a PB but didn’t achieve it – that’s OK. That PB is still waiting for you to claim it. If you had a target distance or time for your run today but stopped short – well that’s fine too. You still have that goal to motivate you on a future run.
You made the effort to lace up and get out there so that’s a success. You ran! And in the words of Nike Run Club’s Coach Bennett – “if you can’t run the run you wanted to run, run the run that you can run”. You did that!
And if you intended to run today but haven’t managed to get out there (yet!) then even that is fine. Those pesky gremlins can be dogged little blighters, but you were motivated enough to intend to run. You just aren’t motivated enough to run right now.
But you will be...
So, let’s all pledge to be a little less hard on ourselves.
Happy World Kindness Day and happy running everyone
