Iโ€™m very late with these posts although I have been reading and commenting on everyone elseโ€™s.

So... here goes! Sorry long post and possibly very boring ๐Ÿ˜†

C6 last Sunday, second run with hubbie ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ the clocks had gone back here so we were awake very early. The forecast was for rain all day from 8am ๐Ÿ’ฆ so I leapt out of bed and said โ€˜come on weโ€™re going nowโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ never thought Iโ€™d get that keen ๐Ÿ˜‚ We went on a slightly different route but incorporating some of my run from last week. I couldnโ€™t decide what to listen to and in a rush to get out the door, selected the first thing that popped up which was the BBC Sounds 33 minute Lockdown podcast...I thought I was a bit sad choosing that (always had music ๐ŸŽถ before) but was keen to know how it was going to affect our boys and family at home. Hubbie lead the way and I told him to stretch out ahead if he wanted and I followed at my own pace and was fine until about 10 mins in when we came out onto a main road and quite a steep stretch of hill. I was ok whilst going up it, slow and steady ๐Ÿข but when it levelled out it took me until 25 mins to fully recover ๐Ÿ˜– However, we headed back into the park and at 30 mins I was very conscious of the time. The podcast finished and we were on a slight downhill bit so I shouted to my husband โ€˜see you at the bottom, Iโ€™ll meet you by the seatโ€™. When we stopped he told me me weโ€™d run 4.85 km and said โ€˜ if youโ€™d just run to that tree ๐ŸŒณโ€™ pointing further along the path โ€˜youโ€™d have done 5kโ€™ ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ oh well, at least I know I should be able to do it when I want to ๐Ÿคž We did get slightly wet walking home but I discovered that I didnโ€™t actually mind a bit of cool drizzle ๐ŸŒง It did then pour for the rest of the day and then we had our first snow that night โ„๏ธ

C7 on Wednesday and on my own again ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ The weather had gone from one extreme to the other ๐ŸŒž and forecast to reach 20 degrees so I was keen to get out early again. I had planned on listening to the Bruce and Dermot interview but when I tried to start it, it said โ€˜Not Available Outside the UKโ€™ ๐Ÿคฌ So I thought Iโ€™d give NRC another go and selected a Headspace 30 minute one which I really enjoyed. I decided on another route that for the first time would take me back to the park via the creek. Iโ€™ve never run on anything other than pavements or tarmac before. I started well but it was warm and humid again so not my favourite conditions ๐Ÿฅต I found myself having to run down a few steps (very carefully) to get to the path and then along through the woods by the creek on a (dry) muddy path. It made a pleasant change but I nearly tripped over a tree stump ๐Ÿ˜ฌ and had to be super careful on some very narrow bits. Although it was a pleasant change I was very happy to stop at 30 minutes feeling tired and hot and walked the rest of the way home.

C8 was Friday and still warm but not humid. Hubbie was working from home and looked most miffed when I said I was off out as he couldnโ€™t come too ๐Ÿ˜• Iโ€™d been listening to the Zoe Ball breakfast show so just decided to keep listening to that. I decided to re run Wednesdays route but cut down to the creek earlier. I was about 20 minutes in and picking my way (carefully I thought) through the leaves ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿƒ and just as I was reminding myself to be careful of the tree stump Iโ€™d nearly fallen over on Wednesday, I promptly tripped over some raised roots and ended up on the floor ๐Ÿ™ˆ I immediately thought of Tinytears60 and quickly picked myself up brushed myself down and thought โ€˜I must keep goingโ€™ so thankfully with only a muddy left knee and sore palms and with no more than 30 seconds gone and only injured pride, I carried on feeling thankful that I didnโ€™t think any dog walkers had spotted me ๐ŸคžHaving already been delayed I thought I might as well take a photo, a first for me whilst out running, so whilst jogging on spot ๐Ÿ‘Œ I managed to do so without falling over again. I even ran a couple of minutes extra at the end to ensure Iโ€™d done my 30 minutes.

Iโ€™ve been thinking about how much Iโ€™ve learnt this week and the value of consolidating. Iโ€™m still going out 3 times a week and it is definitely part of my routine now. My expectation is that I will run for 30 minutes because I know I can, even if itโ€™s hard. I enjoy trying new routes and different terrain (albeit very limited here) and will be more adventurous from now on. I even donโ€™t mind a bit of cooling drizzle! Iโ€™ve found I donโ€™t have to listen to my playlists and that a podcast or Radio programme is a good alternative.

And most importantly, for my self preservation, when running through the woods I need to pick my feet up higher than I do on the pavements ๐Ÿ˜‚

So onwards to another week. Weโ€™re lucky enough to be having a week away but will be thinking of all you fellow runners and hoping youโ€™re getting through another difficult time ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Keep safe and keep running ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ

3 great sounding runs! I too was tempted to 'off road' last run but I didn't, precisely because I didn't want to risk falling on my ass ๐Ÿคฃ maybe in the spring ๐Ÿคฃ

Iโ€™m worried the upcoming snow and ice might derail my running as Iโ€™m terrified of slipping on that ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Anyway will carry on whilst the going is good ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and letโ€™s hope we can all stay on our feet ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ˜‚

Well done my fellow ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Œ

I was wondering how you were doing ๐Ÿค— Bugger about the tumble but it sounds as though it was only your pride that got hurt ๐Ÿ˜†

Youโ€™re getting out more often than me but Iโ€™ve just done CR6 and will post in a minute.

Iโ€™m finding the earlier nights and current workload is getting in the way ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ก but it is what it is right now, and Iโ€™m so pleased to have found ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ so that I can unwind ๐Ÿ˜

Did feel stiff with a bruise and twingy knee so havenโ€™t run today but will tomorrow if ok ๐Ÿคž

I do feel for you; I do realize how lucky I am being able to go at any time. At least running helps you unwind at the end of a day ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hope your week isnโ€™t too bad ๐Ÿคž

Ouchy, sorry to hear about your tumble, glad it didnโ€™t hurt enough to stop you from powering on - what a trooper!

Sounds like some great runs otherwise, such a wonderful thing to be comfortable and confident with your outings. Keep on and enjoy your break away. (Taking your running gear?) ๐Ÿ˜‰โ˜บ๏ธ

Did feel a bit stiff I have to say and a bruise appeared on my right calf and my left knee was twingy ๐Ÿ™„ glad I carried on though otherwise itโ€™s easy to stiffen up. My worst fear is that Iโ€™m going to jolt my neck and back ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Anyway, havenโ€™t run today but will do tomorrow if I feel ok and oh yes, have definitely bought all the gear ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Hah! My worst nightmare is to go *rse over t*t!๐Ÿ˜œ

...but how brill to have that expectation that you *will* run, because you *can* ๐Ÿ‘

...and what freedom to not be bogged down in only being able to do it a certain way...lucky for us that we keep on having techy probs, and therefore have managed without those โ€œcrutchesโ€ ๐Ÿ˜Š

Enjoy your week away, May you find some new routes!

Iโ€™ve been absolutely dying to say that...properly ๐Ÿ˜‚... but thought it might not be pc on here so am delighted to hear you reference it ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

I think weโ€™ve come so far Lottie and are very fortunate that weโ€™ve been able to keep going. I really think weโ€™re past that psychological barrier now and itโ€™s become part of our lives, despite knowing that itโ€™s not always gonna be easy ๐Ÿ˜Š

And talking of new routes ๐Ÿ˜ณ I have to tell you that we went out this morning, thinking that running round close to a lake would be flattish ๐Ÿคžbut oh no ๐Ÿ˜ฌ far from it ๐Ÿ™„ I sure got more than I bargained for ๐Ÿ˜ฑ stupid really, of course being in the mountains itโ€™s not going to be flat for long ๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyway 31 minutes I did ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿ˜ก

Glad youโ€™re out of your โ€˜firebreakโ€™ now ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿฅฐ

Oh yes definitely. Mr.Lottie now asks if itโ€™s a Run day or not ๐Ÿ˜Š

I bet it was scenic though...mountains and lakes ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m a little excited...looked at the Magic Plan W2...distance Run is 39 minutes...plus 5+5 mins warm up/cool down...my first Consolidation Run was a (not) Park Run of 47 minutes...Iโ€™m almost going to be doing a proper 5k eek!

Well if Iโ€™m to do this tomorrow, Iโ€™d better get to bed ๐Ÿ’ค

What a great week of varied runs !

Hope youโ€™re fully recovered from the tumble , itโ€™s always such a shock to go down , Iโ€™ve done it a couple of times walking the dog . I get quite cross as I think โ€˜ good grief when did I start having fallsโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜‚ I felt positively ancient ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

The 5k runs will just be your โ€˜normโ€™ soon too .

I appear to just be doing 4K in 30 mins as Iโ€™m really keeping my pace down if possible . I have though started to move onto 35 minutes ( in the absence of any plan really) so Iโ€™m doing 4.5 k . Think Iโ€™ll do a few of those.

Iโ€™m Struggling finding time to run ( and post) at the moment but Iโ€™m enjoying the runs that I am doing .

I think by doing the same 30 minute run that Iโ€™m relaxing into them and now I can maybe inch forward on either time or distance ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hopefully Iโ€™ll get my act together and get a bi5 of a routine back soon , well done you for getting out there so regularly still ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok now thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š just a bruise left on my calf ๐Ÿ™„ I know what you mean about falling, I felt the same, and part of my job was falls prevention ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Glad youโ€™re still out there and going strong, itโ€™s funny how it becomes harder to find time to post isnโ€™t it. I still check in on everyone else...donโ€™t want to sound like a stalker though... but that doesnโ€™t seem to take so long ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Glad youโ€™re still enjoying it ๐Ÿ˜Š
