What was your longest run before that?

I've had runs where I got lost, too. They're fun... to look back on.

That’s an impressive average pace too.

I can’t see why you wouldn’t eventually do 10k. There’s a formula - distance, duration and pace. It takes more effort to maintain your 5k pace though, over much longer distances. Slow things down (a lot), run for longer, run further. Be patient with improvement though. How about jogging nearer 8:00 /km? (Strava audio cues in settings help with this, I find.)

Do you also do shorter runs - 2.5k?

Well done Dutch-Fraggle it’s like graduating all over again when you achieve a new goal, 8k next 💪🏻🏃‍♀️

Well done! Have you thought about taking a look at ju-ju's Magic Plan on the Bridge to 10k forum? There are timed and distance versions of the plan to get you to running for 60 minutes or 10k respectively, by gradually and safely increasing your weekly time and distance. I have done both and they work brilliantly so can really recommend them.

Had a badly infected thumb which spread down my arm to my bicep. Had to have 10 lots of intravenous antibiotics but getting there now thanks but not running at the moment just brisk walks.

Haha, addictive isn't it. I don't ache as long as I am moving. Sadly in my 50s I am probably a bit arthritic

Awesome job!

Well done! Before I started C25k in September my last running was done near you - Costello playing fields and Pickering Park - when I was a schoolboy at Kingston in the 60s. It’ll be a while before I get anywhere near your run though. Keep it up!

No. Now in Sussex, but still visit my mum in Hull. She’s 98 now. Brother and younger sister still local though, so plenty of reasons to visit.
