Other C25k Programme Uses.

I took up running some two and half years ago at 75 and have enjoyed the forum, speed challenges,Bridge to 10k,HM and yet to complete a marathon.During this time I have had two time outs for gardening sessions sometimes for a 10 week duration.I have had a further two time outs also due to self inflicted overuse and attempting to return too quickly. This will be my fifth completion of C25k.I have settled on my strategy now for any future time outs I may experience.Just use the core programme.Picked up another opportunity from IannodaTruffe when he did his C25k.One run,one repair day, repeat all the way through to run 27.

Of course it is not a race and everyone takes the programme as they wish.I have enjoyed trying that.Started on the 28/09/20 following an injury incurred first two weeks September due to a too ambitious restart plan.Needed two weeks recovery. So I will finish on the 19/11/20 and that is the programme shortened to 71/2 weeks.27 runs and 26 repair days spread over 53 days.Personally I am going to keep using this 53 day strengthing adaption programme to get me back and keep me running.Just never plan to stop.Never plan to leave this support forum neither.

I do agree with you that IannodaTruffe is the number one expert on the C25K program for advice and expertise regarding running.

Not too many people take up running in their mid 70's like you have, that hedge you have has caused you more problems than anything else, especially during the summer, once you have trimmed it down a little you have to go back and start trimming it down again at the other end, so it's only in the Autumn that you can get on with your running.

Good luck for the 19th November when you will graduate for what you say is the 5th time from C25K. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ πŸŽ“

That’s kind RP.We have Inspiritational much older, masters as they are called now, just two weeks ago 80+ year old set a mile record of 8 min 10 sec. There are many ladies and men running many distances including marathons in their 80’s and 90’s.Lady in New York almost 100 and still runs.Keep on keeping on, keep enjoying your running, keep smiling.
