Frustrated!

Hi all, just got to the end of week 6 and struggled to complete the 25 min run. Managed 20 mins at the end of week 5, but this seemed a bit too far! Annoyed with myself, but may repeat week 6 again before going further.

I completely get how frustrating it is to not complete a run but focus on the fact you completed runs 1 and 2 so maybe just repeating run 3 will do the trick. Obviously so whatever feels good to you but you never know, today might just not have been the day and you'll do it on the next attempt. Best of luck 🙂

If it was me I’d take everyone’s early advice and slow down a bit and carry on

You have done so well

Agree with one girl. Just try R3 again when you're ready.

I was exactly the same last Friday, but I slowed down on the 1st wk7 run and it was so much better, and I really enjoyed the 3rd wk7 run tonight. So maybe try slowing down a bit before you repeat wk6?

Maybe have an extra rest day and approach the run again well rested and well hydrated. You’ve done well to get this far so don’t feel like one sh@t run means that you’re done. Far from it - just consign that run to your personal Run Bin and try agin when you’re ready. We’ve all felt like you feel now and it passes. You can do it -it’s about believing that you can.

Exactly that same run walloped me (physically - during and after), and took the wind out of my sails (mentally). No idea why, as everything until then had been going so well and my confidence was soaring (I certainly didn’t start that run with any fear).

Consequently I started w7 with some trepidation. Turned out r1 and r2 (today) were great. No aches and pains. Not even the sort I’d expect from any exercise. Still no idea what clobbered me on w6r3. Just one of those things, I guess.

So I’d say press on, take it easy, and don’t assume the next stage is beyond you.

Not what you're looking for?
