Running alternative

So I can’t run at the moment because of the bulging disc, but I can still walk. So today, that’s what I did. A lovely meander to and through the wonderful Slitt Wood. Lots of lovely autumn colour, hazel nuts foraged, waterfalls and 10.4k walked.

I’m determined to stay fit until I can run again.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous post - you have provided me with the strength to keep my running goal alive. It’ll be a long journey but I’ll definitely get there.

Enjoy your running, I’m with you in spirit, just running a hell of a lot slower 😉

Sorry to hear about your injury WW. Running, of course, can bring you elation, endorphins and all that jazz but walking is so good for the soul isn’t it? 🧡 Especially at this time of year.

How long are you likely to be resting? Be patient and kind to yourself.

If it’s anything like the first go round then nearly 2 years! Hopefully find out more when I interrogate the consultant.

The thing is although this forum is full of ‘vital stats’ , for me I don’t often remember everyone’s pace or distance or whatever but I do enjoy and remember the content of their posts .

How they felt, what they saw , like your sheep and those very fine stane dykes. I am watching Kate Humbles series about life on her small farm and they were rebuilding a section of a stane dyke , it was fascinating and reminded me of your post .

So keep in touch with the forum and keep posting those fine photos that you take on your hikes 🙂👌
