Running belt or alternative?

I’ve been running so far in a hoody, partly to feel a bit covered up but also as the pockets allow for house keys, phone etc. But as the weather warms up and I give less of a hoot what people think of me plodding along I think I might need something to keep everything in. I’ve been looking at running belts and arm bands but tbh I’m lost at that point! What do people use/recommend?

I have an old money belt I use and that works fine.

Following with interest. I've moved down to a very lightweight fleece gilet but pretty sure this will be too warm soon! I think an armband looks like it might be uncomfortable! My leggings have a tiny pocket for a house key but not my phone.

I bought a copy of a flip belt running belt from eBay - about £7. It’s made of Lycra and you sort of ‘step’ into it. It has four slit pockets dotted around its circumference... and easily carries my phone, car keys (the one I’ve got has a little key holder too)... lip salve and Parkrun bar code. It’s practically weightless and fits snug to my body so nothing rattles or bounces around. I think its excellent... also, I have a friend who has an arm phone band - and when she gets too warm it’s almost impossible for her to get her layers off... whereas the belt doesn’t obstruct anything. I looked at flip belts but was put off by the price. I bought a 'Willwell' running belt from the big online store named after a river in Brazil for around £7. It has a snap in buckle and adjustable strap, useful if you're running as part of a plan to lose weight. If I'd bought a flip belt when I started C25K it would now be too loose (I've lost 4" off my waist) and have gone down a size!

That said, I now find the weight of a phone round my middle distracting when I run, so I bought a tiny mp3 player which clips on the waist band of my shorts and my house key fits in a pocket in my shorts.

I got one of ASOS mainly because they’ve had a massive sale on. Holds a water bottle and has a pretty decent sized zip pocket

This seems to be theme for the day 😊 I love my flipbelt: it’s perfect for all my gubbins and even has a clip to keep keys safe. You can buy a water bottle that fits in it too. Its not the cheapest, but so comfortable :)

Another vote for flip belt.

I got one sized for wearing around my lower/waist hips. I only use it in the warmer weather, but it stays put🤩

Unsure what I needed I got a cheap (£3.50) belt from eBay. 2 pockets in it. Working well for me so far. Holds phone, keys etc.

I just stuff everything in the pockets of my rugby shorts.

I tried an armband for my iPod, but it was uncomfortable, kept sliding down my arm and, when using wired headphones, the arm action kept pulling them out of my ears.

So, I'm definitely a pocket kind of guy.

I’ve got a freetoo running belt and a flip belt. Both ok. I find the flip belt comfortable but it’s too thick for the summer I reckon.
