Consolidation run no 2 😊

So first the good news. My pace today was 7:21km which is 40 seconds faster than my last run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 😳. Smashed it!!

Forget about not dressing for the cold weather, so ended up with my long β€˜cold weather’ trousers πŸ‘– on and fleece top again!! Got hot πŸ₯΅ in no time at all.

Bad news - I could only manage 25 minutes and could feel a stitch coming on. So I stopped.

So my question is - is it better to increase my pace or continue running for 30 minutes? Did I start off too fast? πŸ’¨ the route I took was more uphill inclines which I find hard so I am very pleased with my run considering that.

Have a lovely day all. xxπŸ’•

Very well done on your run - it was a cracking pace, so perhaps the stitch was not surprising – and certainly your body was asking you to slow down a bit! πŸ˜‰ The whole point about β€œconsolidation” is ....that is exactly what you are meant to be doing – 30 minutes 3x a week for a few weeks. πŸ˜„ At the end of C25K, you are still a very new runner and need to gain miles on your legs. If you do too much too soon, you risk injury. (After any program when you have built-up time and distance, it’s good to plateau for a while and make yourself comfortable with what you have achieved. (e.g I consolidated for a while after C25K, then after building up to running for an hour, now I am building up to 10 K and when I achieve that I will consolidate that for a while.)

After consolidation, the world’s your oyster. If you want to work on speed or distance, you can – although not both at the same time.

Happy running! πŸ˜„

Angie - well done πŸ‘ πŸ‘πŸ‘ that pace is fab! And I read some hills included too which makes it even more fab! πŸ‘Œ

Like me you will need to learn the art of mid run de-layering! I’m an expert at it now 🀣

I’m no help on your question as I’m still very much learning myself... I just do what feels right..
