Consolidation run 2, finally ran somewhere new! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸŒπŸ’

I am a creature of habit and ran all of my pre graduation runs round the same park. Anyone else do the same?

I’d always felt a bit wary of running somewhere else. Was I a one trick pony, could I really run somewhere different? Well tonight I did, I really don’t know why I didn’t do it before! Not the fastest of runs but I enjoyed it, propelled on by a rather bracing and welcome breeze blowing across the Mersey, still looked like a wet tomato at the end though.

I always tell my kids, β€˜it’s good to try new things!’ (Aren’t parents annoying!!) and it really is.

Something different to look at can’t hurt, takes your mind off the screams of protestation coming from your knees πŸ˜‰

A change is a good as a rest.

Variety is the spice of life.

Anything that has 2 saying relating to it must be true πŸ˜‰πŸ™‚

They were grumbling a little tonight it’s true, they like a good moaning session πŸ˜‰ The view was a distraction 😊

It does look lovely, that’s the one thing I miss about running without my phone, I never get to put any pictures up.

I tend to run the same few circuits . I did go on hol to wales on about week 5/6. Loved running on the sandy beach there. We live in Devon but our beach is very pebbly, on a slope and only have sand when it’s very low tide.

That place looks lovely for a run! And it looks flat - I like flat!!

I ran at 6.00am today and looked like a wet beetroot when I finished!πŸ˜‚

Yes! It is flat and that’s why I chose it! 🐌 We can form a wet veg club! πŸ˜‚

You know, I’ve never actually looked in a mirror after a run, I just usually collapse on the sofa, but I asked my wife the other day if I go bright red when I’m running and she said β€œohhhhhh yes”. πŸ˜†β˜ΊοΈ actually now I think about it, she was a bit quick in her reply. πŸ€” she could have tried to sugar coat it a bit for me. 😞

It is good to try new things... and you've done a few with the programme! πŸ‘πŸ˜‰

I drove out to a local canal at the weekend to run the tow path. It was nice... busier than my normal routes and I was very conscious how sweaty etc I must have been but it was a nice change.

I'm glad you're finding it easy to keep getting out there!

Still get butterflies πŸ¦‹ before a run but still loving it 😊

Looks lovely! Wish I had water to run alongside. There is a canal nearby, might try that soon. I definitely think new routes help. I ran the same stretch of railway line for 6 weeks. Ready for new routes now!

There is something comforting about the same, familiar route and knowing what’s coming and I’ll probably continue to do most runs in the park because it’s convenient. Definitely good to push on out of our comfort zones and try new routes though. Enjoy your next consolidation run πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Ooh! That looks lovely. My railway line track which I’ve been running alongside, is so grotty, I think I’ll have to find somewhere new, bit worried that oncoming train drivers might mistake my face for a stop light. Go you for your next run. πŸ˜€

Is that as New Brighton? I grew up on the Wirral but it’s all changed so much now I don’t know it anymore πŸ™x

Wow it’s amazing what has been done to the waterfront. I left 1982 and it wasn’t especially accessible or pleasant in those days x

You should visit! You would hardly recognise New Brighton either, loads of redevelopment in the last few years. I’m not a native but been here 20 years now, love Liverpool and the Wirral too 😊

I do come back to see my Dad and sometimes my brother but it’s about 5-6 hrs drive up and I never get chance to sight see. Either straight back down south or up to the Lakes. Would love to sneak up once and do the memories!

Just read your bio MelsieJay, sorry about the broken leg! How frustrating!

Indeed. I’m not being very brave about it. Scared I won’t get fit all over again. If I do you will have to take me for a trot along that prom!

You will come back, I can sense your inner determination! It’s a deal πŸ‘

Well done for trying a new route! I also run the same place which is a large park, but I change my route around it or I did before the heat has forced me into the shade of the trees along the riverside! I'm too superstitious to change it now that I am due to start week 9 but maybe after graduation I will take your lead and venture away from my safety net!!!
