Consolidation 2 - Running free

I’ve been chatting with a member on the positivity forum about poetry today. It’s obviously got my creative mind thinking and I’m feeling in a grateful mood......

The North wind doth blow

And it has brought snow

To accompany the sunshine today.

As I run through the trees,

Bird song caught on the breeze,

It blows all the cobwebs away.

Without music in my ears,

I listen to what nature has me hear,

And the sunshine pushes through the clouds.

Not a soul do I meet,

As my new runner’s feet,

Enjoy running without all the crowds.

I turn towards home,

But I don’t feel alone,

Knowing many of you are running just like me.

In these strangest of times,

With much on our minds,

We should relish the chance to run free.

Thank you for that. I can identify with the feeling. A blackbird seems to be running with me, a buzzard sits quietly on a post waiting for the day to start. I even saw an owl preparing to doze. I am new to running.... doing this to replace a morning swim. Run 2 of week 3 tomorrow. I have had proper shoes by post to replace tatty trainers, and they fit.I know it will get harder but ok so far.

You’ll be so glad you invested in running shoes, especially as you head towards the longer runs. Enjoy getting out in the fresh air 😊
