Consolidation Run 1 πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ decided I’d graduate again πŸ˜†

So after 2 days off and still smiling from graduation on Sunday 😁 I thought I’d better get out there again. The weather overnight had been as wet here as at home and it was still chucking it down this morning β˜”οΈπŸ’¦ I’m so lucky that I haven’t had to run in the rain yet. A window of opportunity presented itself at about 1pm and with the temperature rising again out I went. I’ve decided that for at least 3 weeks I’m just going to repeat 30 mins. before I change anything and thank you to everyone offering helpful advice 😊

I thought I’d just repeat W9R3, stick with Jo, use the same route as Sunday and go with my graduation playlist 🎢 I’d been concerned that I’d feel flat after the elation of Sunday but none of it πŸ˜ƒ I was keen to get out again but it did feel sort of weird knowing that I’d been let loose and as RacingintheStreet mentioned, it felt as though I had my β€˜P’ plates on πŸ˜‚ Thankfully the 🚦were on my side so I didn’t have to run round and round as I did on Sunday! The run went pretty well until the last 5 minutes when I started feeling very warm πŸ₯΅ and I knew by the change of shape of my fingers that the humidity was rising (they look like podgy sausages when it’s humid πŸ˜†) I slowed down even more 🐒 and was absolutely thrilled when Jo told me that I was Champion of the World again 🀣 sadly no more fireworks but I’ll forgive her for that.

I walked home and having realized that it was 17 deg and 85% humidity I was astonished to find that I’d covered 4.4 km in the 30 minutes. Thankfully my fingers have returned to their normal size 🌭and this time I rehydrated in the correct manner πŸ˜‡

Hopefully C2 on Friday....happy running everyone πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Thank you 😊

Have just seen your post, I’m very lucky that I’ve never had a stitch (yet!) but others do post about them especially early days. I’m no expert but would say make sure you drink lots of water, I’ve never drunk so much in all my life, do the dynamic exercises before, the warm down stretches after and run slowly 🐒🐌 The C25K guide is invaluable, oh and make sure you have at least one rest day in between! Hope you’re able to complete W1 soon so good luck and keep posting πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Brilliant! That’s a good distance covered too!

Go you! πŸ‘πŸ’πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸπŸ§‘πŸ‚

Thanks Lottie 😊I rather surprised myself πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I think maybe Runkeeper is fooling me πŸ˜‚

I’m going out with my husband, hopefully on Sunday for the first time 😬 I’ve told him only 30 minutes and 🐒🐌 πŸ˜† but he knows the distances so will double check on his Fitbit. It’s quite helpful now to get a bit of a benchmark for distance covered as it’ll help me plan future runs. I haven’t run a whole 5k yet but eventually that’s what I’d like to be able to achieve....might join you on the (not) park run one day 😊

Hope you get out on Friday ok πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŽΆ

I bet it will be strange to run with someone!

There may be a window around 9am...or after 2pm 🀞I’ll be watching the local weather forecast tonight...and checking the radar in the morning!

Don’t imagine I’m jogging for 5k 😱...Walk for 5mins, 30min jog...then walk to finish (or until 5k on your app/watch). May do this tomorrow πŸ€”

Good luck for Sunday πŸ˜„πŸŒπŸ’πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸπŸ§‘πŸ‚

What a fab regraduation run! 🀩😁

Loving the idea of P Plates! πŸ˜‚

I’ve noticed people mention the fireworks, I didn’t even get them the first time around 😟 Jo Wiley owes me fireworks 🀨

Fab that you’re still smiling and brimming with energy by the sounds of it. Good luck with the next 3 weeks πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸŒŸ

Wot, no fireworks πŸ’₯ πŸŽ‡ 😳 Jo definitely owes you, big time πŸ™ hope you at least got the confetti πŸŽ‰

Am not expecting to feel full of energy every run πŸ˜‰ and I’m certainly not by the end 🀣 but am taking it one run at a time. Reading the posts about the experiences of you lot a week or two ahead of me was so useful with preparation, expectations and getting my head in the right space πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜Š

Well done πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ» a great time and distance. I’m afraid it’s the time of year when we will be trying dodge the rain.

I did my first 5k yesterday and managed to dodge the rain. I’m sure we will get wet at some stage 🀣.

Enjoy your rest days

Thanks Jules 😊 I think Runkeeper might be fooling me πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Well done for doing 5k πŸ‘ that’s what I would eventually like to get to, I’m going to search for your post now πŸ˜ƒ

Yay! Very well done!! πŸ‘πŸŒŸ 🌟

I just completed my 1st Consolidation run this morning too. I've also decided to continue with the Wk 9 Run 3 runs for a while as I'm not ready to break up with Michael Johson yet; I like to think we are good friends now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

I wasn't feeling at my absolute best but picked a good mantra and ran with it and feels good to have done it!

Happy running all. Have a great day 😊

Thank you 😊 and well done to you too πŸ™Œ

Yes, Jo and I are pretty good friends too and I like the continuity of it for now.

Enjoy your next run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸ™‚

Glad you had such a good follow up run and sounds like you won’t be wearing those β€˜P plates’ for too long ...... brilliant distance πŸ‘ŒπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I think you’re wise keeping the consistency of the 30 min runs anΒ£ see where they take you .

I wasted my first week of runs β€˜faffing about’ but I’m now on the β€˜ 30 minute straight and narrow’ .

Feels better and will give me a β€˜like for like’ comparison if everything is the same .

Hope all your runs are as good as this one , but a run is a run even the β€˜not so good’ ones. Important just to keep going out there I think πŸ€” πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Yes I agree, keeping going is definitely the thing πŸ‘ and I’ve learnt so much from yours and others experiences too πŸ‘Œ

Unfortunately C2 wasn’t so good πŸ™„πŸ˜‚ but C3 yesterday, the first run with my husband, was a goodie πŸ™‚ Am just accepting that some will be better than others πŸ€·β€β™€οΈand that’s ok 😊

Sounds like a great run and we'll done on your graduation! There's a strange freedom to the first consolidation run isn't there but I did the same as you; I still used the app even with the noticeable lack of fireworks haha! Best of luck with your next run. I'm sure you'll smash it.

Ps. Thank you for making me aware that there is a tortoise emoji haha. Id never seen this little guy before 🐒

Thank you Pnegirl 😊 I’ve learnt a lot from those of you a couple of weeks ahead of me, all very helpful πŸ‘Œ

Yes, isn’t he cute 🐒πŸ₯°

Have just seen your post. Sorry about the β˜”οΈ, will be interested in your replies, I’m thinking of using it as I’m afraid Jo and I have now fallen out πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I have no aspirations to run further than 5K but do like a coach in my ear!

Hope the weather improves and you can get out again soon, looks like you’re doing really well with your running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

I’m not entirely sure you’re a 🐒 kind of runner at the pace you’re putting in πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‚

I couldn’t find a roadrunner β€˜ beep beep β€˜ emoji but there’s a πŸ†πŸ† and πŸ…πŸ… are pretty quick too πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
