Week Seven, Run One

Should be soaking up the sun in Tenerife this morning but our holiday was cancelled last week so back to the gym instead. Another twenty five minutes non-stop but found it particularly difficult this morning. Not sure why. Perhaps it's because I know I should be lying on a beach, listening to the ocean and sipping on a cocktail πŸ– I so nearly stopped halfway through this run. So happy that I didn't give up but it was very close thing. Now it's over though I feel fantastic. And proud. And hot. And sweaty πŸ˜… Let's hope this gets easier. Next run ThursdayπŸƒ

I feel you pain there. I was supposed to be flying to Ibiza on Friday night :(

Hope you get your money back as quick as we have. Tui cancelled on Friday and have credited us back in full this morning! Very impressive after some of the nightmares I've heard about.

The hotel was booked via Travel Republic, so we'd only paid a deposit and they refunded it, eventually (they took the booking even though the hotel never opened this year!). Flights are another story.... Easyjet only cancelled the outbound flight to start with, therefore giving no option for a refund on the booking. They cancelled the homebound flight last week, so now we have to phone them to get the money back, otherwise they want us to take vouchers. All in all, it's a good reason to book a package deal in future!

Oh, and well done getting to week 7. Not far to go now, and once you've graduated you'll really start to enjoy this running lark :)

Good luck on the refund

Mummybowles, you got hot and sweaty and none of that queuing at passport control πŸ‘ that's gotta be a plus πŸ‘ hope you got a holiday refund πŸ™‚

Shame about the holiday but well done on the run. I definitely think the running is less risky at the moment though! Xx

I'm sure you're right but please tell that to my knees 😁

Are you doing any strength exercises too? When I started Bridge to 10k I started doing the strength exercises on the 10k plan, they were really helpful xx

If you get incredibly hot using a treadmill to complete your runs you ought to try running outdoors. It is generally accepted that it is a tad harder but it is so less sweaty. Give it a go - if you hate it you can always go back to the treadmill. 😊 Well done on your progress so far πŸ‘πŸΌ

Thanks and you're right. I completed C25k last year and all done outside - I'll hopefully get back outdoors after graduation this time. There's benefits to both - the treadmill allowed me to watch 'Homes Under The Hammer' this morning which took my mind off the run, and I think it's kinder to the knees. Plus it's not weather dependent. But I did enjoy running outdoors last year - I just think I need to get my confidence back first πŸƒ

Homes Under The Hammer is so addictive - at the beginning of lockdown when I started working from home I had it on every morning πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I did used to run on a treadmill but I just got so horribly hot that it put me off so, as long as the weather is mainly dry I’ll be an outdoor girl. Whatever works for each runner, I guess 😊

The game to play with Homes Under the Hammer is to guess what piece of music they're going to play a snatch of.
