Week 3 Run 1

Starting running again at age 60 and it's not going too badly so far! Knees are a bit stiff to begin with but usually loosen up on the run. Was a bit apprehensive at moving up to 3 mins of running but it was fine. Enjoyed Jo Whiley's 'ancient' reference to bouncy Spotty Dog from the Woodentops!

Welcome to the forum!

I ran with Jo too, loved her commentary 😃 Sounds like you’re doing brilliantly, keep going and update us with your progress 💪🏼

Are you doing post-run stretches? These will help with any soreness and niggles.

Here’s a link to the NHS recommended ones:

That’s great 😀 we started at 63 and it’s made a huge difference so i hope you keep it up and if you need extra rest days between run days take them and run on fresh legs

😂 Aah yes, The Woodentops and Spotty Dog...very mindful of trying not to bob up and down!

I started the day after my 65th birthday...just come to the end of my first consolidation week.

Don’t forget to do the warm up dynamic stretches too 😊 Have you watched the Japanese slow jogging video too?

Enjoy...🐌🐢🏃🏻‍♀️🍂🧡🍁
