First consolidation run.. not a failure but only managed 20 mins 😞

I put this off until today, I was going to run Friday but wasn’t feeling great, still felt under the weather today but better than yesterday.

Off I went with enthusiasm, didn’t go out early as had office desks to assemble this morning when they arrived ... if I see another flat pack box I will promise to myself not to move again !

Anyhow, with pooch and hubby in tow we ran around a park we haven’t been to before, still getting used to the new area. It was full of dogs so I was happy that hubby had control of Luna 🐕 so I could concentrate on myself ( I know, very selfish of me 😂) After 5 mins I was distracted by the need to pee 🙈. Continued for 10 mins then found a bush! Felt so much better, however, I just didn’t have the energy to complete 30 mins. Only managed 20 mins but I’m happy with that.

I’m going to rest for a couple of days and then come back with more energy and hit the 30 mins again.

Surely, if we’ve learnt anything from this program it’s that no run is a ‘fail’. 20 mins running is better than not running at all so be kinder to yourself. 🤞🏼It’ll be different when you do your next run.

Looking at your previous posts it does look as if you have a naturally swift pace - maybe slowing down would lead you to being able to do a ‘steady’ 30 minute run with relative ease and consistently - I read over and over again on here that slowing down is the best way to get the condition that you need to eventually speed up.

Yes, you are quite correct, 20 mins is 20 mins.

Normally pace is okay, but I feel like I’m coming down with a cold so less energy, I will see how I get on my next run after a couple of days rest, will adjust pace if I need to also. ☺️
