It just didnโt feel right from the beginning ๐ I was later than usual going out this morning and the temperature was warmer and Iโd been questioning whether I shouldnโt go or give my ankle a extra day off. But I was ready and warmed up so thought Iโd get on with it. The warm up walk was fine and even the first 5 minutes was comfortable, I was going slowly and breathing fine. The Isley Brothers started singing โWhoโs that Lady?โ which encouraged me but then I just started to have doubts feeling that this was going to be a really tough one ๐ฌ I thought Iโd banished those pesky gremlins ๐บ on the last run but found myself reaching for CCโs baseball bat to try and swat them away. I got to the bottom of the road, turned around and had the uphill part most of the way back ๐ฅด It was such a slow slog and I didnโt feel much better when it eventually levelled out at the top at about 25 minutes. When The Average White Band suggested โLetโs go round againโ Iโm sure everyone in the vicinity could hear my expletives when I told them where to go ๐คฌ By then I was hot and praying that the sun wasnโt coming out, ๐ณ so unlike me as I love the sun but have learnt that I really donโt enjoy running when itโs warm. I was so relieved when Jo told me I was done and could walk the last 5 minutes home. I was so disappointed as Iโd been feeling much more confident but ๐คทโโ๏ธ have decided not to dwell on it and just put it down as a bad one. Iโm now not feeling 10O% this evening ๐ค so am thinking that may have contributed to it.
Anyway, only 2 more to go but will see how I feel as to when I tackle R2 ๐
Oh and btw I was even wearing my ๐๐ฉฒ so thatโs blown that theory out of the water ๐คฃ

The crimbo pants failed? This must be serious! ๐คฃ I wouldn't worry, you still completed even with a bit of an injury and not feeling 100%...thats a big achievement! Well done you ๐๐ป๐ช๐ป
You got out there and you did it ๐๐๐๐๐๐. Well done CazzaW. Itโs tough, the last week. It kind of feels like finishing the last of a glorious bar of chocolate hahahahaha. At least thatโs how it felt to me and I hated that it was the end of the programme but I know you will get through it and be ready for the next adventure. 2 to go ๐๐ป๐ฅณ๐๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Thanks Wardlewunner, I need to rest up for a few days before I get out there again ๐ Youโre nearly there ๐ will be looking out for your graduation post!
Read your post this morning but had to get to work and didnโt get a chance to reply... so sorry as it sounds as this definitely wasnโt your favourite run and I hope youโre feeling a bit better ๐ฅบ
Remember, you donโt need your lucky pants ๐ฉฒ as youโve become a runner ๐โโ๏ธ and so this is now all about believing in yourself! (This is a bit pots and kettles as 28 minutes is still an effort so goodness knows how Iโll manage 30!) ๐
Thanks MinnieMoo. Still not feeling quite right but even worse my ankle isnโt great โน๏ธ I really shouldnโt have gone out yesterday ๐ Iโm going to have to properly rest it now for a few days otherwise Iโm going to get shin splints ๐ฃ am so disappointed as had hoped to do R2 & 3 tomorrow and Saturday. Guess graduation will wait for me.... maybe weโll cross the finish line together ๐
I felt this post so much Cazza! Gremlins, clothing/weather issues. I had the same run last week where I was begging the sun NOT to come out! Never in my life..! ๐ฅต
You keep hold of that baseball bat, it sure does come in handy. Sounds like this was a tough run for you but the important thing is you made it around - well done!
Iโm feeling absolutely rotten as well to be honest. Glad I got my run out the way. Rest up and take care of yourself. Thereโs no race to that finish line but weโre all behind you cheering you on xx
Youโre an absolute ๐ going through and replying to everyoneโs posts.., and after your fabulous graduation run ๐ฅ
It seems there are few peeps not feeling too good, really well done for getting out there even though you feel rubbish ๐ฃ My ankle isnโt feeling good at all so Iโve decided to do the sensible thing and rest it properly for a few days โน๏ธ I was planning on R2 tomorrow then R3 on Saturday but think Iโm going to end up with shin splints if I overdo it. Am so disappointed but guess graduation will wait for me ๐คช My hubbie was so concerned that I ended up telling him what Iโve been up to, I felt so emotional ๐ข He was so proud of me and asked if he could come with me on my graduation run ๐ฅฐ As much as I love that idea, I really think this is something I need to complete on my own.... we will be able to run together on many other occasions.
Am really looking forward to hearing about your first Consolidation run and more lovely photos. Hope you feel better soon and thank you so much for all your support โบ๏ธxx
Oh bless you Cazza, a shame to confess after all this time but I bet hubby is super proud of you!
I completely understand you wanting to finish on your own ๐๐ผ This is your victory but itโs actually lovely that he knows and so will be cheering you on your grad run ๐๐ผ (along with us lot!)
Look after that ankle lovely. Zero point pushing to the finish line with any pain. Victory will taste even sweeter if youโre in fine fettle! ๐ฅฐ Keep us updated with how you are.
Hah! Just got out of bed and now my hip is feeling the strain. Dโya know what? ๐ค
I think we both definitely need to listen to our bodies, take a few rest days and then regroup ๐ accepting this is truly a marathon not a sprint ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Oh no, your hip ๐ฌ Iโm just sat up in bed (weโre 5 hrs. behind you) with a cuppa catching up on these posts. I feel much better in myself thank you, so even more annoying as I feel I should be jumping out of bed getting ready to head out the door, but ankle still sore, well itโs actually the tendon thatโs so sore ๐คจ Guess itโll be another day of foot up, ice pack on and watching the French Open tennis.... donโt know what Iโd have done without that to watch! Have decided to wait until after the weekend, then review the situation ๐ง Hope your hip feels better soon, keep us posted ๐
This is not good to hear as I so wanted you to graduate at the weekend. However listen to your body, rest up, get back out there when you are ready and get those two runs completed. We are all willing you on, you are going to do this...
Ah thank you so much, so lovely of you to reply ๐ Think Iโm going to need insoles (a problem years ago with flat feet!) and my husband is now talking about strapping my ankle ๐ He only found out I was doing this last night as Iโd kept it a secret so it would be a great surprise but clearly he wants me to get over the finish line whatever ๐ Heโs desperate for us to be able to run (well jog ๐ข๐ for my part) together. But seriously, will review after the weekend and will only run if itโs ok ๐
