I've been reading all your posts for the last nine weeks and feeling guilty that I haven't joined in. I suppose I didn't because a lot of the time I thought I wouldn't complete the program, however 9 weeks in I'm done and dusted and wanted to give some hope to all those just starting!
I've always hated running, as a child, as a teenager and I'm not joking when I say that I'd probably never run more than 250m without stopping before. It hurt my hips, it was boring, it wasn't good for you, so many excuses! My base levels of fitness were good as I walk and do HIIT but I was only inspired to do C25K having seen lots of friends do it in lockdown.
Anyway I started, and hated every second for the first 5 weeks until I got to the infamous W5R3 and realised that this amazing program had turned me into someone who could run for 20 whole minutes without stopping! Since then I've loved some runs, been not too keen on others but haven't hated a single one. Once I've got past the first ten minutes I get into my stride and just keep going. Today I ran for over 5km in the drizzle, wiping my glasses ever 5 minutes, through streams that went over my trainers, with mud splashing up my legs with a big grin on my face π. A big thanks to all the people posting who, without knowing it, were inspiring me to carry on with my journey!

Well done ! Congratulations! 5k brilliant ππππ Itβs good to know that although you have not joined in with posts on the forum that you have been inspired by other peopleβs stories, highs and lows.
Massive well done! I also always hated running, couldn't do it, couldn't understand why people did it. Lunatics I'd think! Now I can't wait to get out there running, it's made a massive difference to my fitness and my mental health already and I'm only at week 7.
Well done! Not long to go till you graduate too! It didn't seem too big a jump between Wk7 and graduating to me, whereas at the beginning the thought of having to go from running three minutes to 5 minutes was just awful!
What a great post - and thank you for your message on my posts. I have loved every moment of this journey and still will do - and this forum is a huge part of the fun and community. I guess when we run we all post the good, the bad and struggles and the greatness we all get from the journey - and it's an amazing platform to share it.
Now you have joined - please please post as you post is such a great one. Keep on posting and welcome to the amazing group we have here. And well done for graduating.
Wow, well done for graduating π I always hated running but loved walking too and never ever thought Iβd be able to complete this programme. I really needed something to focus on and itβs given me that in abundance and sharing it with everyone on this fantastic forum has been really special. Iβve learnt so much about myself and canβt wait to graduate.
Fantastic that youβve run 5k already so keep going and keep posting π
