Albeit I am struggling to spring out of bed these darker mornings I think once out the door I have reached quite a relaxed and chilled place here in wk9.
Each week of runs seems to have revealed ‘wisdoms’ ( through triumphs and tribulations ) about this ‘running thing’.
Today I just put the app and an album on and ran round my neighbourhood until 30 minutes were up ! ‘ Simples ‘ 🐒😂
It still felt hard in places, I went a bit 🍅 red here and there , because I’m still learning , but what I didn’t do today was worry about my route, pore over a suitable playlist or think about much at all really.
So I ran for 30 minutes , got a little better I think but I ‘overthought’ absolutely nothing and enjoyed it.
The app cut out on me again 🤦♀️ , yet again I thought the music had suddenly stopped too , but it was just my earbud had fallen out ( I only listen through one ) . This is fast becoming my favourite thing to do 🙄🤦♀️🙄. But it bothers me less .
I am more relaxed about taking little detours round ‘the houses’ than sticking to my prescriptive route and that’s nice . This morning I just meandered really 😂🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
So I’m learning ‘what it is to run’ ( jog 🙄) as I progress and the exciting thing, I think, is that as I keep at it more little learnings will be revealed ...... I know I’ll continue to get better .
Because like all of us I got a whole lot better between wk1 and now .

What a gorgeous photo! It is certainly getting harder to get out of a warm bed in the morning but seeing a sky like that is definitely worth it. It's so lovely to see how much you are enjoying your running; it really comes through in your posts. It's inevitable that we're going to be learning about running for some time yet but as long as it's enjoyable, that's the main thing 🙂
What a lovely description of your growing love of running. I think of it as emptying all the rubbish out of the back of my head and then just being in the run, simple as that! I'm sure that with your very relaxed approach you will continue to run for many years ahead. Not getting caught up in distance, pace etc is good too at this stage.
You're nearly at the end of the programme! Well done.
You’ve managed to exactly express my feelings after my W8R2 jog yesterday.
Get out the door, fire up the music, and just go....kind of “zen and the art of plodding along”...😄
For me partly yesterday, I think it was that for the first time I did a ‘there and back’ run...just jogged until Jo told me I was half way, no thinking involved.
...and yes...I could see the improvement from doing this route as a 2 mile Lockdown walk earlier in the year...as I jogged up an incline I had struggled to walk up previously.
