This picture was my finish line this morning. Not a bad view!!! I love my town but when itβs hot, itβs sooooo busy. 7am is the best time to be out, just a few joggers (including me!) and dog walkers.
So, thatβs me done, canβt quite believe it! Itβs a bit like passing your driving test and thinking, βyouβve stopped holding my hand, help?! What do I do now?!β Well, I completely changed my route today to take in some of the Parkrun route, so that is my next thing. Itβs a very flat route, so suits me just fine!!!
As I was finishing I thought I would write down what I have learnt over the past few weeks:
1). My body isnβt old and decrepit! And if you donβt eat loads, you lose weight!!!
2). Runners Bum is a much funnier term than Piriformis Syndrome!
3). Inclines make my Runners Bum worse
4). I need to stop going on about Runners Bum!!
5). My legs are better for longer strides not little jogging steps, so Iβll have to work on that. Funny when my legs are so short, but there you go.
6). Running outside is so, so much better than the treadmill. Go out early so thereβs less people about
7). Sarah Millican and Steve Reich are definitely an odd combination, Jo Whiley and Tubular Bells work much better!
8). Donβt wear 25 year old trainers, they are likely to disintegrate whilst youβre running (Week 1 Run 3 I think). Research your new ones and get a gait analysis if possible. They donβt have to cost a fortune.
9). The more weight you lose and the more toned you get, the more comfortable your sports bra and your other tight running gear gets.
10). I can do this, I have done this! I will do my damnedest(?) to continue...
Watch this space...
All the best on your journey everybody, particularly Flaraflarkin and SuperMouse who have been on this journey with me and, fingers crossed will be coming over the finishing line very soon xxx
