Starting on this Couch to 5K journey, my aim was always to be able to run a whole 5K without stopping. I knew it was a challenge, based on my previous Race for Life experiences.
Today, I completed my 4th 5K run, without stopping and achieved a personal best of 37:45. I'm more than happy with that.
As you know, I ran down New Brighton with my friend @Tinytears60, who was running in memory of her Mum. Along the way, I passed the memorial benches of Linda and Joyce πͺπͺ Cancer stole these two beautiful ladies from us, waaaay yoo soon ππ
Not quite the experience with everyone running together in the park, but I went out, have made a personal donation and ran for anyone who has battled cancer, loved and lost.
Special mention to @Tinytears60 who battled through her own personal challenges to complete a run today. Love you π
Lots of love π

It's great that not everyone is a selfish Toilet Roll Hoarder and there are still people out there who do things for others and not just for themselves, Restores a bit of faith in man/womankind. I hope to do a 5k for Alzheimer's/Dementia at some point in the future.
Yes, Race for Life is renowned now. These runs have much more purpose and there is usually a feeling of community spirit and with that comes enjoyment, even though it is with sadness at the same time. TT and I experienced this on a small scale today.... and it was probably just as well ππ we'd of probably ended up as wet pink blancmange with all the tears!! π€£
Congratulations to you Plattszo on completing your Race For Life 5K in a PB time of 37.45, well done, your friend TT60 and everyone else will be very proud of you
And congratulations on the PB, there is no stopping you, you keep getting these PBs now! βοΈ π₯³ππ Youβre edging towards that elusive 30 minutes with your 5K runs!
You and Tinytears60 make an unbeatable team! ππππ
We are really there for each other. I like to think we are like geese flying in formation.... when one weakens, the other takes the position out front to ease it for the other ππ
I want to be faster at 5K (and mainly cause I don't have time for longer runs), so it's my focus.
Thanks for your support here and over on Strava Jools x
Well done and thank you. I have spent the last year battling breast cancer and know how important the research is. Has given me an 18 month treatment plan which I am very grateful for.
You are the reality on the flip side of the pink and frills. I'm so glad to have done something positive. I wish you all the very best for your treatment plan and beyond... π
And, wait there, you are on here, are you doing the c25k now?
Let us know what time and will see if I can be out at the same time, celebrating with you (no worries if you don't fancy, we just love a reason to be out there )
Congratulations on completing the Race for Life Zo, thatβs brilliant ππ»ππ»well done you, a great achievement, for a good cause and an impressive 5k time too. Loving that medal of yours, very well deserved.
Nice to have your good friend Jane aka TT60 with you too who did brilliantly to complete it as sheβs not been well....I bet she loves her medal, she loves a bit of bling and for once itβs not a Strava virtual medal π π
It was really cold this morning Iβd imagine even colder on the coast looking at those photos π₯Ά
