How did that happen?

After spending the last few weeks knowing I had a straight 20min run ahead of me has had me nervous, it’s such a big leap from 2 8min runs interspersed with a 5min walk. I knew I was going to struggle, I knew I wasn’t ready!

I started to run and after what seemed an age Laura came in to tell me (I thought I’d ran 10mins) I’d completed the first 5mins ... oh no .... I kept going and pushed on to the half way mark, my legs seemed to be on auto (my choice of listening helped and even made me smile occasionally, I’m now thinking Dad’s Army or Yes Minister might work better).

I’d ran further than ever and turned, could there be just 10mins to go, the answer was yes but they weren’t easy they just got harder as each ticked by, then Laura told me just 2mins left, WOW my head came up and still my legs were going up and down I was nearly there! When Laura said that’s it you’ve done it I carried on, maybe for only another minute, it was my Victory Lap.

This program does work, I’ve not believed it before but it really does work. Ok I’ve still got aches and pains, my brain tells me to stop get some pizza and chips and lug out in front of the TV but this is doing me good, I feel good, I’m starting to feel good about myself and that’s why I’m doing this.

Good luck to all running this weekend!👍

Yay! Well done you☺. Glad all went well today. I'll update you later on my run this morning, finished but not quite straightforward 🙄. Just doing the supermarket run for the week....

Sounds intriguing, the running not the supermarket. I did my shopping at 8pm last night, and that was before my run.

Good post from you Jcksam, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

I have to admit to being a bit lazy and liking the walking intervals😁👍. But I might think differently on Sunday, I’ll let you know.

Well done. Like you I think it’s amazing to go from two eight minute runs with a five minute walk between them to a straight 20 minute run but somehow it just works. That 20 minute run then prepares you for the 25, 28 and finally 30 minute runs that are to come. You can do this! 🏃🏻

Really well done for keeping going and having some in the tank at the end 👏 it’s an amazing feeling to have run that far non stop.

You can enjoy your weekend with a big smile on your face 😃

Fantastic - well done - it's great to hear you've manage to overcome that momentous & infamous run! I take inspiration from you achievement, although I'm still bricking it (it'll be me this time next week!)

Look StoneDragon it doesn’t matter what I or anyone else says about that run you just have to experience it for yourself but you will find that your legs too will just be on autopilot then all you’ve got to do is vanish the demon sat on your shoulder telling you you’re not good enough.

You are good enough, you can and you will to this, everybody on here are standing on the sidelines cheering you on to victory! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Amazingly yes it is, I can’t quite believe I’ve done that. It’s such a big hurdle, probably the biggest there is, 25, 28 and 39min runs hold no fear or trepidation for me now.
