WK8 R2 Gonna give it a try anyway

I’m lucky enough to be on holiday in the Scottish Highlands but my dilemma ( bit of a luxury problem I’m first to admit) is I’m away from my trusted route back in Edinburgh. Went out and scoped a possible route yesterday which has some tiny gradients and worried I won’t complete. I’ve had the genius ( and slightly obvious!) idea that I can just give it a go and if I don’t complete a run this week I’m not actually losing momentum -a fact this lovely community point out on a regular basis. Will hold myself accountable now and get my arse into gear! 🏃‍♀️🐌

What stunning scenery to be running in.

Just take it really slow and you'll be fine.

Besides, you're on holiday! Nothing to rush for. I think I'd be going at a virtual walking pace.

Good luck

Mig

Thank you! It’s astonishingly beautiful and isolated up here and yes... I’ll keep looking at the view! X

Lovely view over the sea loch. I don't recognise it.

You're right. Just go out and do some light running for fun. If you can find a flat enough route that lets you do 28 mins, great, but don't worry: your usual routes will still be there when you get back home.

As a group we'll have driven round there, but whistle stop, so too many places to remember in detail. I've stayed a few nights in the bunkhouse on the Corran Ferry slipway.

Wee update... I managed it and enjoyed it way more than I expected. Thank you all your encouragement. The hazard was not the little gradients-just a wandering 🐄🤣🤣

I’m a Highlander, but living in Yorkshire now. On one jog around Loch Morar a few years back (near Mallaig), I encountered a rather grumpy ram blocking my path. The ram had its head down, scuffing the floor, looking like it was ready to charge! Luckily a nosy cow in the field next to the path came up to distract the ram, so I could sneak past - life in the rural Highlands! 😆
