W4 completed and Dido goes AWOL (temporarily)

Determined to complete W4 on Friday morning which meant a 6.am rising. Stumbled about sorting out phone apps ( and failing to remember to wear Fitbit šŸ™„) then set off. It was cold ! First time I felt cold until about 10mins in. Run was going well and Dido was happily chasing squirrels until half way through the last 5 mins when she went off to the right instead of following me ( I run in a roughly circular park) . I didn't want to slow down to go after her so just called her and ran on the final 90 seconds. She didn't follow! This is a rescue dog (8 weeks ago) who is very attached to me, including sitting in the bathroom when I have a bath! I walked the cool down and looked around for her. Finally she appeared on the edge of the park, saw me and raced across the grass, very happy to be reunitedā˜ŗ. Sometimes squirrels have the edge, apparently. Onwards to W5.

You seem like youā€™re enjoying this running lark, on ward to W5!

It would seem so! Now considering fancy ear pods instead of headphones that tangle up! My husband is wondering aloud who is this woman?

How about you? How has your week gone?

Hi. Iā€™ve had my son here overnight and have been to the park for some fun, heā€™s gone now.

My week has been good, got on with lots at work so getting ahead of the other trades, for now. No roof yet, windows or doors but I canā€™t let that stop me cos when the boarders start thereā€™ll be no stopping them. Running wise I wish this pain in my calf would subside so I can get back out there, if it doesnā€™t go Iā€™ll have to try the osteopath. Burkey46 used some white tiger balm on hers ha and it seemed to work so I might order some.

On the subject of wireless earbuds, Iā€™ve used them for the last couple of years. The fist ones I had lasted about 18 months before giving up then I got the pair I have now - Mifo O5 plus. I like these cos each earbud can be used either independently or together, reasonable sound including bass, stay put in the ear and are comfortable (I wear one everyday all day at work), 8hrs of music per bud per charge, charging unit lasts me a couples of weeks per charge, and I can use them in the shower. There are loads of makes and models out there the truck is finding the right pair at the right price for you. I trust Which, Good Housekeeping and Techradar for independent reviews.

Ps. I promise Iā€™m not in commission for Mifo earbuds but they do come in pink if thatā€™s your thing!

šŸ¤£šŸ¤£, wow that's a lot of knowledge about ear pods! Thanks, I'll bear it in mind. ( I do like pinkšŸ’œ!)

What about physio for your calf muscle? Chat here says it pays off...... Should help with all those ladders as wellšŸ™‚. Does this mean I am only 1 week behind you, now? Starting W5 tomorrow.

Happy to be of help. No weā€™re at the same position, I might try W5R1 tomorrow and see his I go, if itā€™s a problem Iā€™ll have to make an appointment with the physio, I know a good one Iā€™ve used before when Iā€™ve put my back out on site, and you know what causes it? Not warming up before work. You go for a run or the gym and you do warm up stretches beforehand but go to work in a building site and you (I) just get to it, ah well such is the life of a man! šŸ˜šŸ˜

Sorry been busy cooking tea for family, such is the life of a woman! šŸ˜† ( though hubby cooks as well, usually Sundays!)

No need to apologise you having a a family life, I had one once, actually twice now. Wasnā€™t it Lady Bracknell (Importance of being Earnest) that said ā€œTo lose one Partner (Parent) may be regarded as a misfortune, to lose Two (Both) looks like carelessness. I concur with that sentiment completely.

Iā€™ve just had curry and veg, Iā€™m trying to give up carbs.

Very cultured of you, (Oscar Wilde, not curry!)

I may be just a sparky but it doesnā€™t mean Iā€™m not well read.

Ps. Itā€™s not just Oscar Wilde Iā€™m familiar with but also the late and great Stan Lee too. šŸ˜

Not read any of his, I'll check him out. You can't beat Jane Austen in my opinion, for classics.

Anyway just done R1 W5, and it was ok. Fought off cramp and gritted my teeth for the final 5mins. Also had to backtrack ( still running!) to drag Dido off food cartons in the park. Sat night is a favourite haunt for picnics for some, it is a central city park after all.

Good luck with yours.

Not sure if you can put Oscar Wilde, Jane Austin and Stan Lee in the same bracket but Iā€™m sure your husband and/or Male children will know him!

Congratulations on your run, yes cramp is a beggar Iā€™m nit sure if itā€™s worsened by too much water before a race or too little, whether stomach cramp is the same as leg cramp. I used to suffer with leg cramps nearly every night (thigh, calf, foot) but then I started taking a magnesium supplement every day and very rarely get it now. Re Dido (band after the singer or Greek mythology Queen?) I donā€™t think thereā€™s much advice I can give itā€™s lucky I suppose she doesnā€™t enjoy rolling on slugs and snails, carcasses of dead things or poo! All of which has has or does happen to people I know that have dogs, and in fact one of my brothers dogs will eat all of the above given a chance!!
