Disappointing W6R2

Hi all,

Completed this run this morning, and found that I really had to dig deep to finish the last 5 minutes of the run. I still managed to finish without stopping, but it has left me wondering why I did I find the 20 minute run in W5 easier?

Has anyone else found this has happened to them..... ☹️

This is very common for week 6 runs 1 and 2 as going back to intervals can throw you off track !

There are a lot of posts about it !

BUT, you did it, and on to the longer runs now 😁👍

Hi

That is interesting that others have posted on this problem, because I thought my fitness had gone back overs.

Thanks for that. Will be running again on Thursday with renewed motivation. 😃

Most importantly you finished it 🙌🏼 and that’s the last interval of the programme!

I think it’s just the stopping and starting again that trips people up; a head vs feet battle. My R2 is tomorrow.. fingers crossed!

Week 6 1&2 are horrible, well at least that’s what I thought. They’re the last of the run/walk/run workouts. You’ll find it easier from 6.3 onwards as you will be able to get into and maintain a steady pace.

‘Easier’ probably isn’t the right word 😂

It’s so strange that the intervals that you cried out for and helped builed your stamina during the early weeks are so loathsome to many - after just one solid 20 minute session! 🤔

Yeah they were horrible and to make it worse my 5 minute cool down walk involved walking past workman probably wondering if I needed oxygen because my face was so so red and basically I was wreaked😂 I’m over it now, onwards and upwards, ready for R3 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing this - I’m starting w6 tomorrow and it’s good to know what I might encounter.

I struggled at that one too! Felt just as you did. Worried about the w6r3 and flew through it! Was so impressed and thrilled. So keep the faith. You can and will do it. The longer runs let you get into the zone so to speak. When I say flew I meant plodded but found it ok!
