There are several ways to measure your running distance .
You could use one of the running apps on your phone like Strava for example , or you could track it on a sports watch .
However, remember that running 5k is not a requirement for Graduation on C25K.
The requirement is that you have run the 3x 30 minute runs of week 9 , distance is not important
Eh? I thought the whole point was to run 5k? Dear me !! I’m a bit disappointed now
Despite the name , it is a time based program , not a distance.
A small percentage of people (around 10%) may reach 5k on graduation but the majority will not.
That can come afterwards .
I think on my final week 9 run I managed 3.9k of actual Running.
I have since run 5 or 6 5k's one 6 one 7.25 and one 8.5k
But these were all after graduating from the program.
If your treadmill does not track distance then, as Instructor57 says, you will need to use an app and device that can track cadence and footfall. Outdoors you can use a GPS tracking app.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
You will be a lot nearer running 5k at the end of the plan than you were at the beginning, if you don't actually achieve it
The programme prepares you to run 5k. When you finish week 9, you will be in a place where you will be able to run 5k after a period of consolidating your runs. Most people don't manage 5k in those week 9 runs. It is completely normal.
Try not to focus on distance at the moment, that can come later on
Good luck
