Hello at Week 5 run 3 - this program really works!

Hi - I've been watching here for a bit having starting C25K and have been encouraged by your posts thoug this is my first post .

I have just finished week 5 run 3 - and am looking forward to pressing on to longer runs.

Its a bit hilly round here so deciding which way to run has been important. I've usually tried to get most uphill bits in nearer the start and to finish going downhill.

I'm really thankful for the C25K program . I had become quite sedentary recently as I have to do a lot of work at the computer and at aged 64 I think I had rather discarded the idea that might run despite being fairly fit and in good health.

But here i am and I'm doing it !

Yes, it certainly does work , and you are now more than half way through !

Watch out for week 6 runs 1 and 2 as they catch people out with going back to intervals !

But stick with it and enjoy the longer runs 👍

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

Welcome, and well done for getting this far! You will find a great deal of support on this forum. I don’t think I could have done it without my forum buddies. You’re already over half way to graduating, so you are doing amazingly well! 👏 You have completed the milestone run of W5 R3! 2 more runs of walking intervals and then longer runs all the way. Somewhere in the middle of those longer runs - maybe at the end of W7, I started to believe I could actually be a runner! Enjoy your journey and post on here to let us know how you are getting on 😊👍

Well done, week 6 is a bit strange but then you are on the home straight with weeks 7,8 and 9 just being three runs without any stop/start. Don't worry if you aren't doing 5k at the end of week 9 many (most) people aren't but once they are consistently running for 30 mins they can build up.

Hi. I’m the same as you - 66 and never considered running until I saw this during lockdown, unable to do the usual exercise. I graduated a few weeks ago and now I look forward to my next run. The programme really does work. I’m slow but getting faster (a bit!) but the main thing is I’m enjoying something I never thought I would. Keep going you’ve got to week 6 and you’re doing hills- fantastic!!

Hi I’m the same age 64 I graduated in June at a very slow pace so decided to start again and hopefully get faster it’s not happening but still enjoying just running, I’m guessing I’m just a natural slow runner but getting out there makes me feel so good.
