So my last three runs are taking place in Greece. The first 2 in Symi which is incredibly hilly. I've woken up at 6 am to try my best to beat the blazing heat so it's only about 25 degrees when I'm running.
Funnily enough the heat and steep hills have probably been the absolute best in terms of helping me to go slow. Because I have no marker of past performance for this kind of run the only thing I can listen to is my body. I've found both runs physically challenging but also enjoyable during as opposed to just after.

Much slower due to the hills (we are staying on the Pedi side so the main strip of runnable road is up a steep hill) and heat but it was the most enjoyable run and because of both the scenery and the extra layer of difficulty I didn't feel any internal pressure to push harder. So all in all two great runs.
