Starting again post c-section

Hi,

I completed C25k last year and then fell pregnant. Due to morning sickness and feeling generally rubbish I didn’t run during pregnancy.

Now 6 weeks post emergency c-section and feeling like I wanna get my body back.

As 6 week check with GP isn’t happening due to coronavirus I’m a little confused as to when I can start exercising again!

Anybody have any advice or recommendations when I can start to run again?

I confess the 6 week check I had didn't give me much help either -seemed mostly about my son! I wasn't a runner when I was recovering from my EMCS but I did find my core strength and balance were both affected so those are both things to keep an eye on (I'd been reasonably active so my legs were ok.) It's worth checking for diastasis recti balance365life.com/diastasi... .

If you can borrow a copy of the book "caesarian recovery" (I'd say buy but you may get less use out of it at this point) that has some handy tips on getting mobile again and building up your core strength. But I think it's basically a matter of building up slowly and listening to your body. And probably a nice new sports bra.

I would check with your dr - you could phone.

I’m sure there will be post caesarean core exercises online to investigate too, which will help with running. Go gently, your body has had a considerable insult! 😄
