The news of a Sudanese refugee being found on the beach at Calais this week really upset me 😒 and reminded me that actions speak much louder than words.

Therefore, I’m seriously considering participating in the British Red Cross Miles for Refugees 2020 fundraising challenge πŸ€”

I’ve done a quick calculation and I can comfortably complete the 22 miles challenge (the length of the English Channel) alongside tackling the September Magic 10K plan.

Staring 4th September = 13 runs = 63.5K = 39 miles 😱

(The next challenge is the distance from Damascus to Beirut at 72 miles - I think that’s impossible for me at the moment!)

So, if I were to commit to running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ the distance and raising the Β£150 🎯 would anyone consider donating to this worthy cause?

In the first instance I need to raise Β£30 for the registration fee + running T-Shirt anyway so I’m scoping out potential support before I fully commit because funds are tight right now thanks to #Rona.

There is no acceptable age to pass away whilst trying to find a better life free from oppression. I want to help in anyway I can at the moment πŸ’ͺ🏻

Yes, I'd be happy to donate. The story has been haunting me too ... might even do the challenge ... thanks for the post.

Thanks πŸ™πŸ» The story is tragic isn’t it? So much desperation and not enough compassion. If you do the challenge - keep us posted! I’m fundraising for the registration fee (Β£30) via KoFi: ko-fi.com/phoenixrise πŸ™πŸ»
