W7r3 : dead legs but ended up well!!

this morning I completed week 7!! I decided to do the same route as last time because I like it so much 😊 and it’s pretty

For the first 5 minutes my legs were SO dead! They felt honestly like they were made of lead :/ But things improved! My breathing was good this time because I made sure to slow down - my brain was telling me to go faster (especially near other runners eek) but I managed to keep a steady pace! Usually my km splits are so different, but today they were all between 6:05 and 5:50!! So a lot more similar than usual.

I felt good so continued running for 2 more minutes before a stitch attacked!! But I managed 4.5k so hopefully I’ll be on track for 5k in a couple of weeks :) I’m excited for w8!

Congratulations. I completed week my W7R3 this morning as well. Legs weren't too bad, I have been following the advice given by IannodaTruffe , loads of water the previous day to prevent dehydration. I am a bit stiff post run but legs were coping fine during the run. See you at the finish line in.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

oh okay thanks!! I must say I've been neglecting stretching so I'll start now!

Who's a fast runner, then? 😀

Today I was slower than you. I averaged 6'14"/km on a mostly downhill or level course. (Not easy to find round here.)

I sped up at the end when Jo suggested it, instead of continuing running. The longer duration (28 mins) happens next time anyway.

ahhh thanks!! oh so nice to be downhill - today I was so happy to not have hills.

Yes somehow I was scared of w8 so I told myself if I could then today I’d continue running to get over my mental fear :)

Good luck for w8!!
