Routes in York

Working in York for the week. Does anyone know any running routes in the city centre? Preferably to do 5k? Would be starting by the Barbican

From my limited experience, you'll probably be wanting to run to the north of the city centre, where it's a little flatter.

There's a waymarked Sustrans cycle path alongside the river going NE (York and Selby Path).

Definitely the river you will get 5k in no problem

Yes there is, there’s also cycle paths and a new community trail linked to the university depending on where you are located yusu.org/opportunities/spor...

Look on plot a route. That shows all the cycle paths. You can plot your route.

Someone on here recommended an app called ‘footpath’. Omg it’s amazing! You can draw the route before you start and it tells hi the distance

Download an app called AllTrails and check all the routes created by the community. It's a nice database.

York is beautiful , I have been there once , I would love to bike around the town , good luck n enjoy ur stay !!

Thanks for your suggestions guys. Decided to run along the river from Fishergate to Fulwood and back. So beautiful 😍. Beats Salford. Going to get my boss to send me here more often 🤣
