W6R1: See you after the interval

Time: 7.45am. Weather: 11°C, Light rain.

Harder than you'd have thought.

This run is to extend overall time with a slight decrease in running time. This is four minutes longer overall than W5R3.

Touch screen phones are hard to work when rain spots keep hitting the screen.

Setting off on the first run, I had the usual muscle and joint grumbles for the first minute or so, and I probably set off too fast again.

The middle run had me covering new ground on my route before the turn around.

The final run started OK but I could feel myself flagging about half way through, with the leg muscles feeling tight. Stuff that! For the final minute I deliberately pushed to maintain my earlier pace on the final upward incline. I didn't do a sprint at the end this time.

Stats:

Distance: 4.6km including all walks

Paces for the running sections: 5'51", 6'32", 5'52"/km. 🤯

Wow you were FAST! Well done, especially for keeping going in the second half. Bet it was all worth it when you saw your pace 🤩 x

I was really surprised how fast it worked out to be. I was trying to go slowly!

I'm trying not to be! This was faster than W5R3. If I end up getting a little faster overall over the next weeks, it looks like I may actually do 5km some time in week 9. 😳

I always find I run faster if I'm not clock watching funnily enough :) and yes lets hope so!!

Very well done. You need a garmin ☔️ 😜

I love your perfectly symmetrical elevation chart.

Any recommendations?

Depends on how much you want to spend. And if you want to be able to download music on it too (you also need a Spotify premium account for £10 a month too)

The 45 and 245 are nice new models. Vivoactive 4 has music feature.

Apparently there's a Forerunner 45 Plus just out.

PS. Ignore the peak speed in the image. That's GPS jitter. FitoTrack isn't good at filtering that out yet.
