What do you lovely people think? πŸ˜€

I started C25K and was going great managed to make it to Wk7 and that when it started going downhill for me.

I just wasn't managing to make the 25mins, was managing 10-15mins and just seemed to stop and walk I did only walk maybe a couple minutes but it started deflating me and the demons came in.

Unfortunately I let the demons get to me and I have not been out in 4 weeks. I have set my gear and trainers out and I am hoping that I find my mojo and get back out there tomorrow.

Any suggestions as to where I should restart from or should I just go out and see how I get on?? πŸ˜πŸ™„

Exactly what thatwasunexpected said, get out there. Either do week 5 (or 4) or go for a 10' run every other day, then 15' then back onto c25k. Week 7 is like the end. Anyway go out there and enjoy the lovely weather and the run, whatever you run, you run. You are doing it only for yourself and clearly you miss the feeling. YOU CAN DO IT

Hi, thanks for your encouragement , I got back out there and did w4r1 must admit struggled a wee bit but could possibly have gone slower . My legs felt bit heavy.

Main thing is I got back out there and hopefully the push I needed to get back into it.

Also it was quite warm so I'm using that as a bit of an excuse πŸ˜‚ β˜€οΈ

well done! Yes I get heavy legs day and that could be linked to loads of reasons. For me now, I always have heavy legs first 5 minutes. Just keep doing week 4 until you are comfortable with it then try 5.1. Maybe you'll choose to repeat that one a few times. There is no rush, anything you do is good for you and helps strenghten you. Enjoy it too!

The reason that we recommend that C25k is done at a pace at which you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run, is because that equates, for most people, to approximately 75% of your maximum heart rate, which is the ideal pace to build stamina and the solid aerobic base required to run faster and further.

Slowing to this pace makes it achievable and more pleasurable and should avoid you having to stop part way through the session.

As for where to pick up after a break all any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.

Perhaps this post about mental approach may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Relax and enjoy it.

Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

Hi Morv1609 you can do this. You've got your kit out and that's a great positive message to yourself. Go back to w4r1 and take it nice and slow. You'll love it and you'll be on your way. Keep posting on here for friendly advice and great support
