I am Mahendra, started this program on 27th July, as recommended by my friend and it looked impossible for me to follow and still looking very difficult as I am in Week 2. The very first run was very difficult as I was not sure about the pace and ran fast then on subsequent run, reduced the pace significantly and so far able to follow Laura. Let's see how it goes but very happy and glad I am doing this.

My journey ct5k program
Learning So Far:
1. Pace is very important so be slow at starting don't run fast.
2. Don't run on rest days but dont be idle too. I do walk on rest days with longer distance as compared with run days.
Welcome Mahendra,
Great job getting started. It’s also good to see that you have 2 major pieces of learning done already... you’re thinking like a runner.
Have a read through the guide to the plan for more such learning, there’s lots of information in there that will be relevant throughout your running adventures healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
You can do this, enjoy your journey.
It sounds as if your on the right track. Slow and steady is definitely the way to go. This video may give you some idea
Good luck in your running journey👍😀
It always looks as if the next week is going to be impossible but it isn’t, just take it slow and you’ll be fine.
Good luck. I found a good youtube blog Couch to 5k by Andy Clayton where he records his thoughts run by run which I’ve started to watch (he’s very unfit). Not looking at the next week though until I try it first. Good luck, there is lots of encouragement in this group
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
Well done you!! I’ve just finished week 7 and would never have thought I could run for 25 minutes without stopping. I’m enjoying the sensation of movement and being able to run now. I would say that up to week 4/5 is the hardest. Keep going...you’ll get there 🏃🏽♀️ X
I agree with Smoonie . The first few weeks are the hardest. You're waking up the dormant capabilities of your body. Everyone's grumpy when they're just woken up.
I loved week 3. Then week 4 came which was a curate's egg. Week 5 (which I've just completed) hasn't been easy, but it's been nowhere near as much of a struggle as those first few weeks.
I started three times. The first time I completed Week 1 but had to stop because I was ill. The second time, I stopped after completing Weeks 1 and 2 because the medicine I was on was fighting attempts at fitness. This is the third time and I'm "over the hump". I ran for 20 minutes this morning. I would not have considered that possible back in March.
