It's over a month since I completed C25K and despite running for 30 minutes I wasn't reaching 5K. But today I decided to change my tactics. I got up really early because the weather forecast was that it was going to be very warm today. I decided that I wasn't going to stop running after 30 minutes like I usually do but keep running. And I did it! π And more! I was so keen not to come up short I hadn't realised that I'd gone passed 5K! So my 5K time is 38.6 minutes. I'm so pleased with myself π
My first 5K!!! π: It's over a month since I... - Couch to 5K
My first 5K!!! π
Congratulations!! Itβs like graduating all over again isnβt it!!
Fantastic and well done! Itβs a wonderful feeling to run your first 5k. I agree with HennieR62, it is just like a second graduation π₯³βοΈ.
Well done - itβs a great feeling ππΌββοΈπ€Έπ»ββοΈππ
That's brilliant. I did the same thing earlier this morning too!! πππ·π
Brilliant! I did exactly the same thing yesterday to reach 5K. Feels good doesnβt it! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
well done I too have been running longer the last two runs, it feels great does un't it
Thank you! π
Yay!! And so you should be...that is excellent, pushing yourself just that bit more has paid off in all sorts of ways!! Well done NorfolkWifey π
Congratulations! π₯³ππ
I agree totally with others about it feeling like you graduated all over again! Actually it was much much better!!!
I managed the same on Tuesday, just over 5 weeks since graduation, and I was still grinning Iike a Cheshire cat when I went to bed last night.πππ
Please see my latest post. Virtual 5k
That's fantastic!! Well done, that's a brilliant achievement ππ€ΈββοΈπββοΈ
Fantastic! I'm still nowhere near 5K so this gives me hope that I'll get there eventually. Well done you π
Wow! Well done to you! Did you ever think you would be able to run for 5K? Fantastic achievement! πππππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈIβm not there yet. Trouble is, I worry that Iβll suddenly decide to push too soon and suffer the consequences. Iβm going to try and make myself stick to 4K for at least another week. (I live in Norfolk, too π)
Another Norfolk girl here, I only just cover 5 k including my 2x 5 min walks, so something to build upto after a couple of weeks I think. Still struggling with the 30 min run , I hope it will get easier π€
Iβm sure it will! If youβre struggling, then slow down a bit maybe for a while? Enjoy the runs. Plan some new routes. Have fun! I live in the fens, near the border with Cambs. Love it here!
Enjoy ha, ha , struggling with that one too lol. I will keep at it now Iβve come this far. It seems we are not far apart although I donβt want to say on here but I am also very close to the fens. One benefit, there are very few hills which certainly makes the runs easier. I have 1 hill ( incline) to tackle which I still incorporate the upward side in my 5 min warm up walk π. Something to build upto yet π’
Iβm actually starting to enjoy the runs! I go for walks to scope out new routes. Before I graduated, my runs were just along one of the man made riverbanks of the washes. There and back. But now .... itβs more fun! Circular routes around the village. Itβs changed the way I feel about running. I donβt include the walks as I want to see how far Iβm running. I hope you get to love it, too!
Thanks, I think I will eventually, I love being out in the fresh air and itβs time for me. Maybe when the park runs start we will be able to the same one? Have fun and enjoy your runsπββοΈπββοΈ
Thank you. I started C25K 6 years ago but gave up at week 7so I was determined to get there this time! Don't try to run too fast, just run a little bit further each time. I live in North Norfolk. π
