Me again, now on wk 8r2 but have put it off for two days. Last run was good but hard and scared going to go out and fail. I felt sick with anxiety this morning so didn’t go. Want to do tomorrow BUT heads not in it. Only 5 runs to do so why can’t I get on with hit. Hit a brick wall. Help!

Because running is as much in your head as it’s physically. The only way to overcome the gremlins is just to keep on doing it. We all go through the same. You’ve already done a 28 min run. You can definitely do this.

I just keep making excuses to not go. I am planning on trying tomorrow. I suffer with my anxiety big time and running was the only escape but for some reason it become a wall. I need to get up, not think about it and get out the door. I’ll have everything laid out and ready and try to just go.

You cannot fail this plan unless you don't try.

Hey Wally2808, you can do this, look how far you have come already. That said, I completely understand the anxiety thing. I'm not sure how you found R1 - I found it psychologically quite tough, so I was worried about R2. But, when I went out I was safe in the knowledge that I'd done 28 minutes before, and when it came to it, I found it easier.

I'm going to do R3 tonight, if it would help to do it 'virtually' with me, I'll be setting off about 9:00 , although I realise running at that time is not for everyone

Ahhh bless you. I don’t think I could run that time off night, I don’t sleep well any night so exercise before bed will get heart pumping but if you are doing it tonight I’ll use that as inspiration so I can tell you tomorrow I smashed it! Fingers crossed.

I smashed it! Can’t believe it and it was raining. I felt sick as I left and feel sick now back but the run was great. Even the toxic 10’mins seemed a bit easier. The last 5 mins I had to dig deep but I blooming did it. Chuffed 😊

What if you don’t fail? What if you smash it? Even if you don’t make it to the end of the session at least you can say you tried, leave a days rest and try again. Enjoy your runs (if that’s possible) and if you have to repeat then that’s ok too! If you go out thinking it’s going to be a bad run it probably will be. Good luck and don’t be worried!
