Badge says runner, guess I must be getting there.

Wk6 R3 in the bag. A few days later than planned but still done. To be honest It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Started nice and slow due a niggles in left knee but once fully warm it went. Just plodded on at a nice steady pace, opened my stride a bit on a small incline (felt it) but kept on going. All was good, right to the point when Jo said "you might find your legs feel heavy at this point" I thought no they don't. Hang on yes they do because you put that thought in there. So counteracted that with positive thought and sped up a little. I feel fantastic, these past six weeks have really changed me, I move a hell of a lot quicker, I don't get out of breath till about the 10th floor when doing stairs but that's getting better. But the best thing is...... my knees they don't hurt anymore at the end of the day. I suffer with mild very mild arthritis in both knees due to wear and tear etc but I have noticed that the more I run the less they hurt /ache at the end if the day.

The badge at the end of week six says runner, I guess I must be now. Wow πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Well done you... lots of warming up and some great stretching exercises on rest dyas too for the pesky knees :)

Have you tried these?

nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

Done slowly and gently, they may help:) Maybe choosing more forgiving running surfaces if possible would be an idea too?

But you are doing wonderfully... you RUNNER you!

I think I need to get a decent pair of running daps maybe even a gait analysis done as I feel I come down more to the side of my foot than the middle. Rest days I do walk around a fair bit and always take any chance I can to stretch my legs and muscles. But I will give those a go. Thanks

Once you get past W5R3 and you break that mental barrier even though the runs are still challenging you know they are doable.

The good thing about W7 is that it is W6R3 again, something you know you can do, this is aways going round in the back of my head:

If I can run for 20 minutes, I can run for 25,

If I can run for 25 minutes, I can run for 28,

If I can run for 28 minutes, I can run for 30.

As Oldfloss says, just keep it slow and steady, get into a relaxed breathing rhythm and you'll smash it.

With you on that

Certainly are a runner.... and you will be great at W7 and beyond. You're two thirds through. Doesn't that feel fab?

Fab, fab dosent come near, really enjoying it now. Today it suddenly dawned on me as I was singing along with my Playlist that I can run, breathe and sing at the same time. 6 weeks ago I just about breathe and run.
