Just completed UnfitNoMore'quest to run 10 miles by the end of July, I ran non stop and only had a drink when I completed the run.
Almorr ran 10 miles: Just completed UnfitNoMore... - Couch to 5K
Almorr ran 10 miles
Al that’s amazing, such a good feeling when you complete what you set out to do
Thank you WillowandSola, I ran non stop because if I had stopped it would have been more difficult to restart, especially the last 6 km 🏃🏾👍
It’s a huge long way I’m so proud of you, because if you can we can
You are thinking of running 10K or 10 miles(16K) in the future, a great 'goal' to achieve.
A huge goal but some th omg to aim for when the summer heat cools a little
The exact route I hoped to run would have been very muddy, if it had been yesterday I would have ran on that part of the route, perhaps if I have trail shoes I would have ran on it, as it was my shoes were very wet for the first time ever, wet but not muddy, I might run another 10 miles in the future on the course I couldn't run today, I have no intention on going further than 10 miles, so no half marathon for me.
I wanted to manage a half marathon but Willow is happy with what he does and as we run together it would mean me being out a long time training without him so i just do a bit extra here and there I ran 8k so 10k is achievable and after that 10 miles may be
Superstar Al! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you cheepychipmunks, I actually made a mistake in my excitement on completing 10 miles that I posted my report of my run here on C25K, then I remembered that my report should have been on the Marathon post which it is now with the words 10 miles next to my username, good run for me in the rain, non stop, I was going to stop at 10K but just decided to continue because if I had stopped it would have been more difficult to restart.
Yes I saw posted on both forums Al. It doesn’t matter, it shows the C25Kers what can happen afterwards! 🎉🏃♂️🏃♀️
Wow !! That is some feat !! Well done 👏👏
Awesome stuff! Way to go you!! 😁👍
Well done AlMorr
Thanks Sue, I enjoyed that run this morning, apart from the weather, if it had been dry I probably would have had a short rest at 10K but the rain was at its heavyiest and I just continued running.
Best to keep going, especially if it was raining
You are correct Sue, however, I feel for myself, 10K is my maximum happy distance, over 10K, unless anyone has been doing specialiest training which I have not been doing, 10K is the longest they should run, so from now on 10K will be my longest run, I will NOT go for the Half Marathon distance.
I have no desire to go beyond 10K. 8K suits me best
PS Update, I have run, apart from 5K's more 8Ks than any other distance, I suppose the reason for that is that is for me an hour of running, my times for 8K have varied from just under an hour to 34 seconds over the 60-minute mark.
Unusually, I ran 10.6km today.
10 minutes running, 1 minute walking, so very leisurely. 1.33.10
Well done, have you passed Loch Lomond on your Lejog journey?
I was at Ardvorlick yesterday. I haven't put today's in yet because we go out for a short walk late afternoon to get the last of the daylight.
You are now in the heart of The Scottish Highlands.
I have just passed the Falls of Falloch, heading towards Crianlarich
Crianlarich is a milestone destination in the famous West Highland Way, there is also a railway station there, the West Highland Railway Line splits just after Crianlarich, north goes parallel to the West Highland Walkway to Fort William, west goes to Oban on the west coast of Scotland, east, the way you will be going on LeJog goes through the heart of the Highlands to eventually join the A9 which goes to Inverness and onto Wick near John O Groats.
Great run great distance. Well done Al. So impressed. 👏👏👏👏
Well done Al! That's a fair trek!
Wow, that’s incredible, well done 😊
Oh my goodness, that's amazing!
Hi, not sure about amazing, the weather was amazingly wet, especially when I was at the 10K point, so wet I just continued running until I completed the run by which time I was drenched and the ☔ rain was much lighter. 😊 🏃🏾 I immediately changed when I got home, all I was wearing were a T Shirt and shorts, I think people who were out shopping with rain coats must have thought I was a bit odd dressed as I was, but who cares, I had just ran 10 miles without stopping. 😊 🏃🏾
Congrats AlMorr, great run today!
Wowee 👏👏👏👏👏
Well done Mister!
That’s what I call a SERIOUS run!
Fantastic achievement Alan and non stop in the rain too. Well done Awesome Al. 👍
Thank you Lexi6, most of the run was ran in rain, it meant that I could not run in the woods where I know where it is very muddy when it is raining, I feel fine.this morning, no sore legs, I will go my usual Thursday morning walk, next run will be my 6th (not) parkrun on Saturday morning.
Fab-U-LOUS Al! On a useless tablet with no emojis, but there are fireworks, bunting and huge applause from myself to yourself
Well done!!! 👏👏👏🏃♀️👍
Thanks Sonia52, it's now 3 1/2 months since I ran that 10 miles run, I am gradually getting back to longer runs, next Wednesday I am thinking of running a 12K and I will see how that goes to get back to my second 10 miles run later in November.
Running 10 miles/16k is my next plan. Currently i have 1 more run left which is a ‘5k race’ on my Garmin coach timed 5k plan which had me running up to 12k!! My goal being a 29 minutes 5k. It was a good thing I did Ju Jus magic 10k plan beforehand! Now I just need to find a plan that gets me up to 10 miles. A half marathon seems way too ambitious for me at the moment, and I need a much welcome break from all those Garmin speed and hill repeats 😂
They say if you can run 10 miles, just over 16K that by running a little slower you can run a further 5K which is 21K/13 miles, a half marathon, that is the theory, in practice, bit more of a challenge, when I ran 10 miles, although naturally tired I felt as if my legs were about to come off, I was slowing down with every kilometer after 12, I just made the ten miles, I doubt if I could have ran a further 5K/3 miles.
I’d be happy with just 10 miles for now 😂 I feel comfortable with doing 10k now and actually prefer it to 5k. Nice and steady... But the two times I have done 12k I just start to hurt and it feels like my absolute limit. But the Garmin coach plan has been intense with me now running four times a week. I am looking quite forward to doing some free and unplanned runs, just running for the sake of running.
And oh!! I registered this morning for the London 10,000 next May! Hopefully...
It will be another virtual run, I don't think that mass running events will begin at the EARLIEST until Autumn 2021
😢
BUT if they can get a mass inoculation program going by the end of this year or early in 2021, we could have mass events, including parkruns going by April 2021, but at the moment that looks highly unlikely.
