Sunday run

Not my usual day but I’ve got a bit out of sync with my runs this week as I had a bit of a twinge- difficult to describe accurately but I had a slightly sore feeling on the top of my foot which I think may be my own fault for schlepping around in flip flops. Serves me right for being smug about avoiding injury this far. so I took an extra rest day and ran on Friday. ( also wanted to support TinyTears et al on their graduation run!) All seems good now and no soreness today- just when I thought it was maybe a sign that I need gait analysis and new shoes!

It was drizzling a bit so I was hoping for a nice cool run but as ever it eased off when I set foot out of the door ( will I ever be a proper runner?!). It was quite humid but I reversed one of my 5K routes because I only did 30 mins on Friday and I wanted to make sure I did the full 5K today.

It felt pretty comfortable on the way round although I did tire right towards the end and had to be stern with the gremlins who were making their presence known 👿

Think I might have to work on slowing down again if I want to extend the time/distance, not that I’m in any way fast 🐌🐢😜but I seem to have plateaued a bit. I want to keep going and avoid injury and I’m still quite happy with my bimbling 5Ks, but at some point I may want to do more.

All in all a pretty uneventful Sunday run but it will feel odd not running tomorrow- I never miss a Monday! Enjoy your day everyone

Glad to hear you completed it !

I noticed you said you want to do more but then went on to describe your run as just a non eventful 5k Sunday morning run !!

To me, that is great progress 😂

Thank you! My first goal post grad was to get to 5K - ✅ and then to get comfortable with 5K - I’m almost there with that so I’m just beginning to think about what next, but I’m in no rush- I just want to keep enjoying it and improving my stamina. And avoid injury!

Talking of which...Hope you are continuing to improve and will be back out there soon

Sounds good to me !

And yes thank you , I'm doing some excersises and stretches now as the pain is more of a niggle now (but frustratingly still evident)

I will probably have a walk later and see how that goes but I hope I can resume in a few days 🤞

Those damn Gremlins get everywhere and are very noisy 😂 Well done for ignoring them 👍🤪

Sounds like a nice solid no drama run ! Exactly what the doctor ordered I’d suggest with no niggles ! Well done, every run builds the stamina !
