W8R3 done

One of the most difficult runs for me. Normally I run every other day in the morning. I get up, drink water, take my meds for under active thyroid, prepare and leave the house. I run somewhere around 6 and 7am. I come back home and say to my husband “I did it!” (Most of the time); he always responds with “I knew the you would”...

My W8R3 was planned for yesterday morning, but I was not feeling well, I didn’t plan to do it this morning. Lazy morning it was, we had breakfast really late, long chat afterwards about everything and anything...and than it hit me: “what about running later than usually?” I have to confess, running wasn’t my thing but I love it now! I love my new shoes (bought them about a week ago), I love how tired and happy I feel when I come back home...so I put my running gear on and...

I struggled with the beginning (I know about the toxic 10 thanks to you guys, thank you!), I mean, I really struggled, around 10-13 min I started enjoying my pace, it did not last long, I could not wait till the end of run. Could not bring myself up to do the final brisk walk and it was extremely slow walk home for me... I felt a bit disappointed with myself, with how hard the run was.... and now while typing this post up I have been feeling less and less disappointment and more and more positive feelings. In the end, it was a hard run, but I still did it (but even if I could not complete it today, it would not mean I failed, it would mean I did try, I gave it a go, I did as best I could). I would may consider if I need to repeat it or move on to week 9, I am not going to think about it now. I deserve a nice shower 🚿 now!

YOU did it!

Despite it being everything you thought it wouldn’t be ... you did it!

👏👏👏👏👏

Well done!

And I love how you silently have a little word with yourself and push out the feelings of disappointment to positive thought!

Way to go Lady!

Week 9 here you come!

Yes - I said week 9 ... it’s yours for the taking!

But it’s your journey and you must do what you feel is best for you!

You completed the run and you did walk (ok may not have been brisk .. some of mine aren’t either)

Personally I would move forward .. well done for digging deep and doing! ✅

😊🏅

Thank you! It’s reassuring to know that I’m not the only walking slowly after a run! 👍

I was the same this morning - I struggled on w8r2 two days ago - I think I didn't drink enough and ended up with a splitting headache and slept in the afternoon - so I was already dreading today's run before I even went out.

But I tried counting trees instead of telling myself how badly I was doing, and allowed myself to feel more positive. It didn't change the snail pace but it did enable me to finish the run!!

The jump up to 30 minutes seems massive - I'll need to give myself a good (positive) talking to!!!

Strangely, there is something encouraging when others share the same struggles- it means I am not the only only, it makes that someone else gets the struggles from their own experience, it means we can support each other!

Well done for sticking to the plan! I agree 30 mins run next week sound like a massive jump- but hey, it’s only two minutes more! We can do it! 😀

Your routine sounds the same as mine! And the new found interest in running gear.😜

Don’t be discouraged- we all have days when things don’t go according to plan. But you finished the run and who cares about the brisk walk - I am usually just about able to walk home not caring about the speed! You only have one week to go and you can definitely do it 😁

Oh, wow! Sounds like the same routine works for both of us! 😀 plus, running in the morning means there are not too many people who could see me (though, I only cared about being judged at the start of my running journey, now I don’t..too much).

Thank you for the encouragement! I am surprising myself ( my old self) when I say that I love running now! It’s great to know that there are more people feeling the same!

One more week to go! (I may need to refresh my songs list as the current one seems to be a bit boring now).
