My friend and I are on week 7. But in 25 mins only doing 2.5k so no where near 5. It’s ok, need to build stamina but it’s ok. Question should we go back to earlier weeks to get faster or keep doing the longer runs and build those up
Has anyone else done this: My friend and I are... - Couch to 5K

You are doing great.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
You need to build endurance and speed will come in time.
Stick to the plan.
I graduated last week, I’m only getting to approx 3.4km now 😀
Me too. But I am getting faster and definitely fitter. I have just finished my 7th consolidation run. As they say in this forum, let’s run to the durations rather than go for distance. Distance and speed comes automatically, I hope.
I did a consolidation run today, I decided to try without Laura and I found my breathing easier. I think I was getting panicky/stressed when I wasn’t even at half way on some of the runs with the “that’s another 5minutes” notices. I found it easier just running to the music and just estimating how long I’d run for. Then I had the great surprise of thinking it was 24ish minutes and it was 30mins! I ran for a whole extra song. Thank you Biffy Clyro for the extra push 😂
Very few people get to 5k on graduation. The aim of the programme is to get you to run for 30 minutes, you can work on speed later, after graduation - only 2 weeks to go! Enjoy the rest of your C25K journey 👣💪😁
Carry on exactly as you are. only 10% of folk here reach 5k in Week 9, so don't worry, it will come in time.
'Couch to 5k' is a catchy title but it's also deceptive. Look at the program... you're running by TIME... not distance! That's cos gauging time is far easier for most of us... all you need is a normal watch :-).
'Couch to 30 minutes' doesn't so sexy does it?
You are doing well. Keep on the way you are. There is no need to think of how far you run at present. I am told that very few are able to run 5k in 30 minutes at this stage. Keep trotting along at your own pace.I would stick with the programme to end of week 9 before considering speed. Good luck!
Yep keep going, pace will come in time as your fitness improves 🙂
Thank you everyone for your support
Did w7r3 Friday and knocked 1min off pb- I was well chuffed!
Thanks for this post - Im in week 7 and feeling the same! Everyone’s responses have helped me feel better about myself and my running ability at the moment
