Does anybody find they run better/worse at different times of day? I seem to do better first thing in the morning. I have just done w7r1 at 17.00pm and I was rubbish! To hot and couldn't get my pace right.

What time of day do you run?

Same as you 1st thing is best for me .
Its cooler and quieter. Also just makes me feel brighter all day.
Evening running just seems a bit of a drag and it is easier to weasel out of it.

I have always ran in the morning, at the earliest 6.30am but it's usually around 9am except on a Saturday morning when I run at a parkrun or not parkrun at 9.30.
In the winter months I have been known to run in the afternoon when it's not so cold and any ice from the morning has melted, the coldest weather that I have ever run in is - 6C/21F at a parkrun and warmest temperature is +20C/68F again at a parkrun in the summer of 2019, when I think of it, that was my very first parkrun, later that day there was thunder which cooled down the temperature.

I much prefer to run first thing in the morning 👍👍much quieter and a beautiful time to run. 🏃♀️🏃♀️

I’m an evening runner - especially after a tough day at work! Gives me a chance to feel the pound of my feet on the ground and get rid of some tension. I don’t think I have enough emotion in me in the morning!! 🤣

Early morning for me - tried a post work/pre dinner run once and hated it! Will not be making that mistake again😱

I'm an evening runner right now. I can't really fuel right before a run so I have to eat around 2 hours prior to running. This is fine but in a morning run I want to be out the door by 7:30 and I'm not getting up at 5 to eat something so I always do morning runs fasted and a bit dehydrated. Ends up just not being the most productive runs.

It is trickier at this time of year when that is often the warmest part of the day, but weekends aside, I'm always an after work runner. I just don't do mornings.

I go out 6am before work, it’s lot quieter and cooler and the airs cleaner, plus I find a run sets you up for the day 🏃♂️

I think it just depends on habit.
When I was swimming I used to be an early bird in and out of the pool before getting on the train into work and it used to set me up for the day so I totally get what the early morning runners are saying.
But since lockdown and working from home I've been running early evening to de-stress after work (plus hubby threatened divorce if I wake him up early)
My 2 morning runs have been disasters but I'm going to try again for the morning as I do like the endorphin rush first thing

With a child who wakes up early, evening is definitely best for me - a great way to wind down after the day, particularly when I add in the post-run yoga. But I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the winter though - my favourite routes go through fields so will be a bit dark
Definitely first thing -up, banana, trainers on, out - before anything else gets in the way!

Prefer a morning other eating time interferes and life in general

I hate running at that time!😩
I’m on week 8 and decided to run at 20:00pm tonight! I have never run that late before, and honestly I loved it! It just seemed so peaceful and it was really cool outside- made the run a lot more enjoyable😊

Mornings around 6am. It’s been easier working from home as not got the 30 minute commute or the time I need to make myself look reasonable. It’s going to be more of a challenge from August when I have to be in the car breakfasted and looking presentable at 8.15
