As you will know getting out for the first time is the hardest, but once you have started will you be hooked? will you feel that rush week after week of completing each week? if yes plan when you will go and go. Happy running

My cousin who has run marathons and stuff has been supporting me. I texted her with excuses trying to get out of a run one day and she texted back simply ‘don’t let anything hold you back’. I have since said that to myself many times and it has got me out of the door. Just get yourself out there, you can do it, no excuses!

Tonight, lay out the gear you wear for C25K so you see it as soon as you get up. Move your trainers to the front door, so you see them in the morning. Off you go.

Why did you do it originally? Think of those reasons and if they still hold true, get out there and do it! You know you’ll feel better afterwards and you will have conquered the hardest bit of getting out the door

Off you go!! 💨🏃🏼‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃🏻and tell us after how it went!

All good ideas and wise words from the other replies.

For me: It feels so much better in head and heart when I run than when I don’t. From reading other posts here a version of that seems to work for lots of people.

Maybe write down what you will feel if you don’t run and what you will feel if you do. Then run and see if you were right about it. You could also share on this forum.

Sharing my progress on here also helps. Giving and getting support and motivation is also a really positive way to increase motivation. What goes around comes around. I make it sound easy. Sometimes it’s not so be gentle with yourself as well. And really appreciate yourself for any small achievement. Good luck. 👍

If you want the benefits, you have to do the groundwork.

We can supply support, advice, consolation and cheers across the finish line, but there is only one person who is going to make you do this and only one person who will stop you.........

I don't know anybody who regretted starting to run, but I know loads of people with life limiting diseases and conditions caused by inactivity who wonder where they went wrong.

Not what you're looking for?
