The five minutes of horribleness

Ok, w8r1 done. I was thinking how well it was going, in fact one of my best runs yet, and then got to only 5 minutes to go. Aggghhhh.... that last five minutes was horrible. How I ever managed to keep going I will never know. My breathing was all over the place, my legs were like lead (and yes, I had drunk gallons of water before going out), and all I could think of was how much I was hating it, how stupid was I to even attempt it, how I should quit while I'm ahead, and why, oh why, oh why, isn't it getting any easier. Having now just about recovered I'm looking back and realising, actually, it is getting easier. I ran 20 minutes without feeling too bad at all, and I darn sure couldn't do that before. Just wish I didn't have to go through the mill every bloomin' time.

Well done on completing the run, even though it felt horrible; were you perhaps going abit fast? Maybe check your speed half way through the run to be able to complete it a little more comfortably? You are so nearly there! I am sure the next run will be great.

Kept slowing it down..... only did 3.03 km in the 28 minutes so certainly wasn't fast... Strikes me that I'm going to have to go some in those last two minutes to get to 5k 🤣🤣🤣

Hardly anybody gets to 5k in 30 mins. Well done for sticking it out though. Its all miles in the legs!

Well done for digging in. In those scenarios it would be so easy to just say I’ve had enough, but you mustered up everything you had and pulled yourself through. Excellent work 😊

Yes, I think you've overtaken me now 🤨 I did repeat w7r3 as I just don't feel good about the longer runs (yet!) Was really struggling with the 'I should quit while I'm ahead' thoughts. Going to try another one today, but its chucking it down at the mo' so will wait 'til later I think. Bit nervous. Lovely to see you getting on well though.. nearly there!! 😁
