What do others do on rest days? I’ve seen this question asked before and usually if not working we don’t do much on rest days, laundry, shopping stuff like that
Today we decided to go for a walk and we couldn’t help ourselves but run parts of it
We call this walk 2 bridges because we cross the river by a road bridge and cross back on a wooden bridge
Happy Monday

I’ll quite often go for a walk. I don’t know where you are on the program, but if/when you get to 5.3 it’s interesting to occasionally walk the same route as you run. I still think ‘there’s not a chance I can run that far’!
That was a nice walk and a little running for you today., that is a lovely photo of the two bridges, you ask what runners do on their rest non running days.
I intend to run a 12K on Wednesday so I thought I would save energy and go for a gentle walk this morning, I had Mapmywalk with me to tell me my pace and time.
When Alexa the autovoice told me my 3K split time of 39.39 I shouted back at her "surely not" then I remembered that this walk was to save energy for Wednesday, I completed the 5.65Km walk in 1 hour 13 minutes which is my average time for running a 10K.
Ha, I think you mean Monday, I usually walk a 5K in around the 52 to a 55-minute time range, today I deliberately set out to go a slow leisurely 5K walk or just a little over, there is very nice countryside near to where I live, no sea but countryside with a few farms that I pass, I have 'powerwalked' a 5K in 47 minutes, all the K split times being under 10 minutes, during my slow walk this morning I saw 3 runners, two of them were running around the 31 minute 5K pace, the other who was running around a rugby field was running at I would say 37 minute 5K pace, it was rather interesting seeing her because when I first saw her I had just completed just over 1.5K of my walk, I continued in a loop and when I got back to that rugby field at my slow pace which I had then covered 4.8 Km she was still running around that field, I think she must have been running a 10K of more.
That’s very interesting, always good to see runners. Oh dear, I worked Saturday, had family over to dinner Sunday which was bbq type food and salad and cooking a roast today no wonder I’m confused, earlier Willow said why does it feel like a Sunday? and I said because I’m cooking sundays dinner lol
What a fantastic place you live. You are blessed 😄Rest day for me today, just in from work and went out for lovely long walk with dog and hubbie over fields and ponds. Maybe a bit of foam rolling later to help my aching knee.
Hi WillowandSola, I recognise that view of the College. We were down on the beach Thursday evening watching the paddle boarders & enjoying the sunset. Tide went out further than usual exposing large tracts of sand but we sat higher up on the pebbles. One of our favourite haunts especially in winter. Great place to watch the lightning storms dance amongst the wind turbines
