No Oz Run Today - but I'm not harbouring a grudge

Oz run 8 was scheduled for today. But I wimped out. A 4am start for the flight to Sydney was, I suppose, never conducive to me spending any part of the day doing exercise. However, I know some of you have been following my runs down here so I thought I could at least let you see I got here. mmcinteractive.com/oz/19.jpg and mmcinteractive.com/oz/18.jpg

Sorry they're really holiday snaps and a bit off topic.

Absolutely amazing to be here and quite jealous of those I saw doing the Bridge Climb (or at least jealous of the fact that they could afford to do the climb...). It's back to reality in the morning though. We're staying 2.5k from the bridge, so a run there, over the bridge and back again should be 6k. Our walk today showed that it's quite hilly - hmmm.

I'm hoping Emily will run with me again, and I hear that my son will also be endowing me with his company. Now that will be a first...

Lovely pics Malcy...... I have only vague memories of Sydney as we went there on honeymoon 21 years ago and I was so knackered and jetlagged I spent all day in bed (sleeping!!!) and was only fit to go out once evening came. So good on you for getting out there and keeping the C25K flag flying!

Great fun reading about your trip and how your running is going. It would be a great shame if you didn't get chance to share your travel & running tales, it's lovely to see your photo's to.. Enjoy your next family run - should be fabulous

Glad you got there safe, no wonder you didnt run! Sorry to pile on the envy making, but i did the Harbour Bridge Climb when I was there 4 years ago, I figured it was a small amount extra compared to the fortune (incl £700 single supplements!) i had paid for my once in a lifetime Oz adventure.

Lucky you - it must have been great. As the dad, I would have been paying for all four of us, which isn't cheap. Flights from/back to Adelaide + 2 nights accom was almost £1000 so had to draw the line. Seems like everything here is 2/3 times the UK price - £6 for a bacon roll, £5 for a small ice cream. Great incentive to keep on the diet...

Hi again - I just reread your post and now see the £700 was just the single supplement. OUCH - I don't have much to complain about then, do I ?

Glad you continue to have a great time Malcy.

After all the great runs you have had so far I think you are entitled to a day off :)

Enjoy the rest of your stay.
