A month to the date after I injured my ankle after running week 8 run 1. I was devastated to be so close to the end but had no choice but to rest. Last night I thought it was time to try again, ankle was healed and I just missed running. Put on week 8 run 2 thinking I’d manage about 10 minutes if that, but I completed the whole run! Not as well as I had the previous runs but I did it! And no pain this morning in my ankle so a success. Just had to share the news as I’ve been sulking for a month over not been able to run πŸ˜‚. And thanks for all the advice on my injury and letting it rest πŸ‘

That’s fantastic news, Lisalulu. It is so frustrating to not be able to a run because of injury; I know from bitter experience! Amazing that you managed to pick up where you left off. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Well done! I don't think you lose much fitness in a month or so. It's miserable not being able to run, so take it easy, sounds like you're doing just great.

Hi -just came across your post as I am in the situation. Just over 5 weeks ago i had built up to 6km - albeit only for 2 runs! - then i fell down the stairs severely spraining my foot and ankle - thankfully no broken bones - but was so gutted. I have been walking for an hour a day now for a week after building up to this from 4 weeks after my fall - couldn’t get my shoes on before!

So i want to start running again asap and i am wondering where to start too - perhaps i will do what you did and start at wk 8
