W6R1 - not my favourite πŸ˜£πŸ˜†πŸ˜£

After feeling euphoric on Monday W5R3, today's run was TOUGH. My legs felt as if they had a mind of their own and set off at a much faster speed than I would normally do (stupid legs). My mind seemed separate from my body the whole way - I managed the run, but despite slowing down for the 8 minutes and final 5, felt pretty tired. I don't feel despondent as I recognise that I didn't manage the mental shift needed from last week (despite all the warnings on the forum) - well my brain thought it had it covered, but my legs weren't listening!πŸ˜† After the punishment they inflicted on themselves today, hopefully they will behave on Friday.

You still did it though, so it counts! Well done. That one can be tricky. I think you’ll find the next one easier - only one interval walk between two 10 minute runs. I really enjoyed that one a couple of days ago. Just think of it as training for the R3 of 25 minutes. Hopefully your legs will obey πŸ˜€. I’m sure you will smash it!

Thanks, yes, I think they need to.! It was enough to just finish it, so not disappointed.

Well done for getting it done! Strange how so many of us struggle with that run.

I reckon the euphoria of W5R3 makes us feel a bit overconfident?

I'm glad you persevered and got it done - onwards and upwards!

Thanks, yep, too smug - maybe it's the hubris run!

Some run days are like that. I've just one run left to complete, and the mental side is as important as the physical, I've found. The main thing is you are keeping going.
